Marnus Labuschagne has gone 47 Test match innings without a ton. This equals the Australian record number of innings of a Top 4 Test match batter failing to get a 100. The person who he now holds the record with? Alick Bannerman who played his last Test in 1893. #cricketcounts

@BruvverEccles Rhodes is top of the equivalent list for Tests, but surprisingly doesn't even crack the top 50 longest FC careers! He was also helped by bowling spin.
Anderson would probably have carried on if Lancs had let him... who knows, maybe another county will value his experience?
Unless a new county signs him at the age of 44, it looks like James Anderson's professional career is over. It started on 2nd May 2000 with a NatWest Trophy match for Lancs Cricket Board, and (probably) ended on 17th September 2026 against Kent in the County Championship.
Only a handful of players have had longer careers ending this century, and of those, Suwanji Madanayake was a spinner and the rest specialist batsman. Curiously, one of them, Derek Randall, played his last match in Anderson's first, having made his List A debut 29 years earlier.
A duration of 26 years 138 days is nowhere on the overall list (the record is an astonishing 47 years, by CK Nayudu) but it is unusual in the modern era and exceptional for a fast bowler.
Harry Brook's 202 is the 14th double century in men's ODIs, the first for England, the fastest (both in terms of balls taken to 200 [114] and strike rate in the whole innings [174]) - and the first to end in defeat. The previous highest score in a losing cause is CK Coventry 194*
Aggers is right that Australia have a low proportion of innings defeats - only 3.5%.
Innings defeats in Tests since 1 January 2000:
49 Bangladesh (162 played)
28 West Indies (242)
27 Zimbabwe (91)
27 England (336)
25 Sri Lanka (235)
19 Pakistan (213)
16 India (271)
12 New Zealand (211)
11 South Africa (243)
10 Australia (284)
4 Afghanistan (14)
3 Ireland (13)
0 ICC World XI (1)
