At #AEPi113 in Phoenix, our brothers came together not only to learn and celebrate but also to serve.

In partnership with Repair the World, AEPi undergraduate and alumni brothers visited a local assisted living facility, where they worked side-by-side with residents to pack care boxes for individuals experiencing homelessness throughout the Greater Phoenix area.

It was a meaningful reminder that tikkun olam is more than an idea, it’s something we put into action. We’re proud of our brothers who joined with the residents who worked together in making a difference.

They left swastikas on a wall. Our brothers answered with Jewish pride.

When Brother Josh Greenwood (California-San Diego, 2029) entered the house where several AEPi brothers had lived, he found KKK slurs and swastikas covering the walls. In an instant, antisemitism was no longer something happening somewhere else. It was there, in the darkness, surrounding him.

The people who did this wanted to leave behind fear. They wanted Jewish students to feel alone, unsafe and ashamed of who they are. They failed.

Mazel tov to Past Supreme Master Gary Shapiro on receiving the Order of the Lion -- Alpha Epsilon Pi’s highest honor -- at AEPi’s 113th International Convention in Phoenix.

The Order of the Lion recognizes extraordinary service to the Fraternity over many years, far beyond the call of duty. Of the more than 130,000 men initiated into AEPi, only 60 have received this distinguished honor.

Brother Shapiro, a 1971 Arizona State University graduate who served as Supreme Master (international President) in 1997–98, has demonstrated a lifetime of leadership through his service to AEPi, his profession and the Scottsdale community. His dedication exemplifies AEPi’s mission of developing leadership for the Jewish community and makes him a truly deserving recipient of the Order of the Lion. Brotherhood doesn’t end at graduation; it shows up on the hardest climbs.

Brother Gal Greenberg (San Jose State, 2012) is riding 600 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles in memory of his AEPi brother, Amir Margittai, while raising funds for cancer research and care through @fireflieswest, benefiting @cityofhope.

If there's not an active chapter on his campus, let us know because we might be starting up there soon!

And a special reminder for AEPi families: If an incoming student is an AEPi legacy, AEPi International Headquarters needs to receive his information at least two weeks before rush begins (on his campus) so we have enough time to communicate with the local chapter.

Congratulations to the brothers of the Sigma Beta Chapter at UC - Santa Barbara (UCSB) @aepi_sb on receiving the Louis Sherr Chapter of the Year Award!🏆🏆

Sigma Beta had a transformative year, growing to nearly 70 brothers and strengthening Jewish life on campus through weekly Shabbat, holiday programming and close partnerships with Hillel and Chabad.

In the face of a troubling rise in antisemitism at UCSB -- including harassment directed at their house and brothers -- Sigma Beta refused to remain silent. The chapter documented and formally reported incidents, worked alongside Hillel and the ADL and advocated directly to university leadership on behalf of Jewish students. Chapter President Jonah Chizinsky also brought that advocacy to the national level when he was invited to testify before the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights about antisemitism on college campuses.

The brothers continue to work with the UCSB administration to better their relationship with the university and to work cooperatively to improve the campus climate for the Jewish community.

AEPi continued making an impact in countless other ways, raising more than $2,000 for philanthropy and helping a majority of the chapter earn CPR certification through a health fair co-hosted with UCSB Hillel.
Sigma Beta also made major strides in strengthening its alumni community, hosting an event that brought together more than 150 brothers across generations and building momentum toward the chapter’s 40th Anniversary reunion in 2027.

Through Jewish leadership, brotherhood, service, campus advocacy, and a growing connection between generations of AEPi brothers, Sigma Beta exemplifies what it means to be an Outstanding Chapter.

Tonight, we are proud to present Brother Daniel S. Mariaschin (New Hampshire, 1971) with the Arthur Teich Award for Distinguished Alumni Achievement. During his 27 years as CEO of @BnaiBrith, Brother Mariaschin became one of the Jewish world’s most respected voices, advancing global advocacy, diplomatic engagement and public policy on behalf of our people.

Dan represents the very best of Alpha Epsilon Pi: a brother whose leadership is rooted in Jewish pride, service and an unwavering commitment to our community. His extraordinary example reminds our undergraduate brothers that the bonds and values they develop in AEPi can inspire a lifetime of meaningful impact.
