.@AFSCMEMaryland President Patrick Moran confronts the University System of Maryland Board of Regents over significant cuts made to staff at the University of Maryland, College Park
Last week, Local 1072 leaders Krista Bulley, Dawn Jackson & Todd Holden met with @RepGlennIvey, whose district includes UMD College Park.
Ty for letting us share our experiences working for the University System of MD and for supporting us as we bargain our unified contract!
Yesterday, my legislation HB984 the Public Employee Relations Act was signed into law by .@iamwesmoore. I was thrilled to join so many great advocates from @AFSCMEMaryland and @MSEAeducators in getting this legislation passed.
Employees from Maryland universities lobbied their state representatives Monday at the Maryland General Assembly in Annapolis for several state bills regarding workers’ rights.

We had a great Higher Education Lobby Night this past Monday! 💪
We spoke with our legislators about improving working conditions, including health/safety measures and telework policies, raising wages to reflect the rising cost of living, and more.

It was a great two days celebrating our wins, connecting with each other, and getting energized for this upcoming election!

@afscmelocal1072 members made sure thousands of UMD families knew we were fighting for a fair contract @TerpsFootball game against Purdue. Students, parents, and alumni took flyers and stickers to support workers.

Great news! Our union has won additional raises on top of the $15/hour minimum for hourly staff who have worked at UMD over 3 years. 🎉
Hundreds of UMD workers are now making 25% more than they were last year. Thanks to everyone who has stood with us!
This independent report, which we helped organize along with @UMD_AAUP and @FSE_UMD shows UMD has loads of money that could be used to fairly compensate the work we do to keep campus running!
