🏌️♂️ Every time a golfer tees up a ball at the Miles for Mary Lee tournament, there's a small detail that holds a lot of meaning — the logo on the golf ball was crafted from Mary Lee Morrison's signature from her wedding certificate.
What started with 24 players has grown into an annual event with nearly 100 participants and a few corporate sponsors. Mickey especially loves making the opening remarks before the players head out. “I point out that I am doing this to honor my mother and so that my grandkids won’t have to deal with Alzheimer’s.”
We all have a why. 💜 Go Purple for Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month with Celebrity Champion Sarah Rafferty who fights to end Alzheimer's in honor of her Nana.

🧠 Everyone deserves a life with the healthiest brain possible. This is the overarching vision of the Healthy Brain Initiative (HBI).
Last week, leaders from 43 state and local health departments gathered in Chicago for the second HBI Summit for Public Health Action.
Attendees connected with peers from around the country, heard from thought leaders, participated in interactive presentations, and helped shape the evolving public health approach to Alzheimer’s disease.
These important conversations and ideas will help guide our work as we begin the next #HBIRoadMap.
Thank you to all who joined us for these important conversations, and a special thank you to our guest speakers: Lindsey Bouza, Joe Gaugler, Ph.D., Lawrence Greenblatt, Ashley Littlewolf, Andrea Lucas and Alexandra Nordyke.

The Alzheimer's Association has been a national HBI partner with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) since the initiative’s inception in 2005. The HBI has worked to implement public health strategies that promote brain health, address dementia, and support individuals living with dementia and their caregivers.
