Today in managed care: Reuters reported that effective July 1, Cigna will no longer cover GLP-1 drugs in its employee health plan. A Cigna spokesperson said, “As availability has increased and new options have emerged, we’ve made the decision to end our plan’s coverage for GLP-1s for weight loss.”

Today in managed care: USA Today reports, “A study of more than 111,000 women...found that those who took popular GLP-1 drugs prescribed for obesity or diabetes had a more than 30% lower risk of breast cancer.” Investigators came to this conclusion after examining “the health records of more than 111,000 women ages 45 to 80 who were overweight and had breast imaging done at Penn Medicine facilities.”
