@Paydirt_Profile@MarkZinno The sample size where he’s actually played like that is a small fraction of his career. Recent, yes.
But he underwhelmed for literal years. Poor QB play sure, but also brick hands and low effort from him at times. I’m personally not sold, and the team has a lot of needs.
@spharr_ATL@putemupcdukes Measurably wrong. They will alienate some obtuse conservatives, yes, and the growth and exposure from new viewers (most ever eyes on a halftime) massively outweigh that for the NFL.
Stefanski isn’t the most exciting hire — but if you’re crowing about a bad record, remember that the Browns sold their soul for Watson. He was hamstrung.
The Browns traded their first-round picks in 2022, 2023, & 2024 (& others) to gave Watson five-years, $230M (guaranteed)🤮💀
@HawksFanTV The Browns trade for Deshaun Watson in 2022 cut the team off at the knees. Massive factor in the poor record.
“On March 18, 2022, the Browns traded away their first-round draft picks in 2022, 2023, and 2024 (& others) and gave Watson five-years, $230 million (fully guaranteed).”
@NSCHawks But it’s not that simple. Sure the surrounding cast could have been better. But his style, shot selection, defense haven’t worked even when they’ve tried to build around it.
He’s the 2nd or 3rd option on a serious playoff team. Trade for a return before he’s owed another bag.
@GarrettRozier@avy3n Unlikely. He might be given a chance to compete in camp for a team with a weak QB room. Maybe. He showed promise for a couple of games, that’s all.
@DOrlandoAJC Talent is one key variable. Coaching, scheme, chemistry are others that are just as important. If one is off, others don’t matter.
You know this, so why act like “talent” is the obvious issue?
@DOrlandoAJC With so many close losses (due to coaching and nightmare special teams) and a young, up-and-coming defense… why so negative? Cap space can be created.
@RiseUpReader Pitts has underperformed for the better part of four years. Not just skill, effort level too. Not convinced he won’t regress after getting paid. Would rather see us sign a league-average TE and spend the 10+ million saved elsewhere (DT / WR / CB).
