From July 5-11, Interim President @DeanMarchick will bike through the legendary Pyrenees Mountains and raise funds for American University students #SummitForScholarships. His goal? Climb the height of Mount Everest (29,000 feet!).

To support this goal, the AU community is invited to join a special "29" giving challenge with gifts of $2.90, $29, $290, $2,900, or more, to fuel scholarships for the next generation of AU future-shapers, leaders, and innovators.

Over 85 percent of American University student-athletes earned @PatriotLeague Academic Honor Roll distinction during the 2025-26 school year.

The Eagles had 251 honorees across 13 sports, including 107 in the fall and 144 in the winter and spring.

After being cut from his eighth-grade baseball team, @AU_SPA professorial lecturer Kevin Boyle found his path in running. Today, American University announces that President Jonathan Alger will step down on June 30, 2026, as he prepares to become the inaugural America 250 Fellow, a joint appointment with the American Council on Education (@ACEducation) and the American Association of Colleges and Universities (@aacu). David Marchick (@DeanMarchick), dean of the Kogod School of Business (@KogodBiz), will serve as interim president beginning July 1, 2026.

The AU community is grateful for President Alger’s leadership and looks ahead with confidence as Dean Marchick leads the university forward, building on the momentum of Meet Our Moment and AU’s mission to prepare students lives and careers of meaning and purpose.

Just five months after finishing his career at AU, Troy Elgersma made his MLS debut with the LA Galaxy on Saturday night. Troy is the program’s first player to make an appearance in the nation’s top flight since 2007. That’s pretty cool 🤷‍♂️.
