We supported carer Katy to discuss her experience with BBC Radio 4's Today programme this morning.
Katy cares for her husband, who has motor neurone disease, and both their mothers, who have dementia.
"You wake up thinking about that money all the time," she said, describing the financial strain of care home fees.
Katy also attended Andy Burnham's social care speech yesterday, telling the programme: "It was significant to be in that room... I'd just like to thank Carers Trust for allowing me there."
You can listen to Katy on BBC Radio 4's Today Programme, starting from 2hrs 37m, here: https://t.co/oKxAffdRcP
Who owns accessibility?
Everyone has a role, but they need clear accountability.
When ownership is undefined, accessibility can become inconsistent. Defining responsibilities makes better decisions, reduces risk, and builds accessibility into everyday work.
