America 250
In the summer of '76, the parchment caught flame,
not from men alone but from a higher name.
“Endowed by their Creator,” the quill declared,
rights no parliament, no crown, no mob could tear.

Life, liberty, the pursuit that belongs to the free—
self-evident truths written for you and for me.
They did not beg permission from the powerful few;
they rose with muskets when the old order was through.

A Constitution was forged with deliberate chains,
to bind ambition and protect what remains.
Limited government, states sovereign and strong,
the people the source, where real power belongs.

Two hundred fifty years the inheritance stands,
carried by builders with calloused hands.
Pioneers who asked little and gave all they could,
families who prayed, neighborhoods that stood.

The promise was never a check from the state,
but the chance to rise by your own honest weight.
Tradition and law, faith and frontier fire,
the soil from which every true American aspires.

Now at 250, the choice is laid plain:
guard what was given or watch it be changed.
The spirit of ’76 still answers the call
to restrain the ambitious and answer for all.

Not to invent new rights from the fashions of men,
but to keep the old covenant whole once again.
A republic, if we can keep it, still waits on our will—
to live as the founders intended, not as we feel.

So raise the flag where the founders once stood,
and remember the price paid in liberty’s blood.
America at 250 still carries the flame:
self-government, ordered liberty, and the Creator’s claim.
