Despite saying he’s all for sun safety, Nic’s comment says it all ‘not if it’s going to ruin my tan’. ⬇️ What a great role model for people under 40y - NOT.
According to our Austs of the Year @ProfGLongMIA & @ProfRAScolyer, #melanoma experts, there’s nothing healthy about a tan.
Aussies have been left outraged after beachgoers were caught using their cabanas to snag spots on popular beaches.
Nic Salerno has been on a crusade against Cabanas, and he tells us why he is so against them.
Thank you to the @eurekaprizes for featuring ACEMID in your blog.
“This accolade not only brings visibility to our work but also provides a platform to further advocate for advancements in skin cancer prevention and early detection”

Our consumer, research, clinical, professional colleges and community Alliance members at #AMC2024
All dedicated and working towards to improving outcomes for #melanoma & skin cancer patients.
As @AMSCA_Mel Chair, it was a fabulous opportunity to showcase the achievements of our 11 melanoma & skin cancer Alliance member organisations at #AMC2024. But, to discover the hidden dramatic arts talents of our consumers during the debate in the same session was priceless!
Day 1 of #AMC2024 wrapped up with a lively debate: 'Patient advocacy & consumer representation are just a tick box exercise'. Very entertaining, with academy-award worthy role play! The negative team won, confirming consumer input is NOT simply a tick-the-box exercise.
Having attended & presented at many midwifery, nursing, diabetes conferences over the years, this year’s #AMC2024 would have to rank as #1. Congratulations @MelanomaAus
During #AMC2024 opening @ProfGLongMIA & @ProfRScolyerMIA reflected on how the melanoma landscape has changed & the roadmap to reach zero deaths from melanoma, including consistent sun smart messaging, national targeted skin cancer screening, advancing treatment & supportive care.
'Skin checks in primary care: Best practice & future directions'. Insightful session at #AMC2024 covering challenges of skin checks, risk prediction tools, integrating new technologies for surveillance & supportive care needs of patients. @AnneECust
Fantastic poster from the @Melanoma_MRV team show casing how #melanoma patients research priorities have changed over ten years with the advent of the targeted and immunotherapies.
