Roger Federer dropped some real wisdom in his Dartmouth commencement speech:
He won nearly 80% of his 1,526 professional matches, but only 54% of the points he played.
Even one of the greatest tennis players of all time lost almost half his points.
His lesson: Don’t dwell on every mistake. A double fault, a lost point, even a bad day, it’s just one point. The champions move on quickly with the same focus and fire for the next one.
This is one of the best mindset lessons I’ve heard in a long time. It applies way beyond tennis.
Life is full of losses and setbacks. The difference between average and exceptional is how quickly you reset and keep playing.
Luck doesn’t just happen, it’s created. You can do things to increase the odds of serendipity.
Meeting more people makes you lucky.
Learning more skills makes you lucky.
Being willing to fail makes you lucky.
Offering to help others more often makes you lucky.
In America, we need to stop obsessing about always being the “BEST” and instead start obsessing about being the best at “GETTING BETTER “. #bethebestyoucanbe#growthmindset
Books are my go-to distraction when submerged in ice baths for a testicle-punishing 10 to 15 minutes.
One night, the flavor du jour was The Inner Game of Tennis by W. Timothy Gallwey. One passage stopped me in my tracks a few pages in:
"The player of the inner game comes to value the art of relaxed concentration above all other skills; he discovers the true basis for self-confidence; and he learns that the secret to winning any game lies in not trying too hard."
The secret to winning any game lies in not trying too hard.
Feeling as though you are trying too hard indicates that your priorities, technique, focus, or mindfulness is off.
Take it as a cue to reset, not to double down.
Do I have the courage to forget myself into health and happiness? By letting go of the “self” we become selfless and in turn we learn that by giving we receive. #Selflessness#BeKind#DoForOthers#LoveThyNeighbor

Palmer Luckey — tech visionary from California — completed ground training in under 50 minutes before confidently taking the controls for his first low-altitude flights. A record demonstrating Palmer’s unique understanding of advanced technologies and just how easy our personal single-seater eVTOL is to fly.
This marks a new era in aviation, where incredibly fun and easy-to-operate personal flying machines become accessible to anyone who wants to realize the dream of flight.
Huge thanks to the entire Jetson team for their hard work, and to everyone who has supported the project over the past 7 years. It’s been quite a journey — and we’re just getting started!

Most Americans below the poverty line still have basics: 99% have electricity, nearly all have running water & a toilet (though 500k lack full plumbing). 95% have a TV, 88% a phone, 70% a car.
This may not seem like much, but a century ago, even the richest had few of these luxuries.
