I-200 already bars the use of race in admissions for WA public universities, but we will review the Supreme Court's action and any impacts on the UW. Yet our mission remains the same: to create an environment of opportunity and belonging for all our students.
The @UW remains firmly committed to creating opportunity and expanding access to world-class education for students from all backgrounds. This is central to our public mission as the University FOR Washington.
I often post about accomplishments and celebrations. Not today. Today I am trying to make sense of why officers sworn to protect would brutality beat…over and over and over…a defenseless person to death.
As President Cauce says, “Today we are mourning.”

It’s National Hot Cocoa Day! Here’s a behind the scenes photo of me filming our end of the year video. Great day for me as I love dark chocolate. Even better when I get to share it with others. Look forward to sharing the video soon. #DeanHodge#FosterUW#NationalHotCocoaDay
Wonderful to spend time this weekend with Foster alums and friends in the south sound watching the Gig Harbor Boat Parade. Go Huskies! #DeanHodge#ThisisUW#FosterSchoolofBusiness
Proud to be honoring veterans who are Foster graduates in Founders Hall. Our recognition wall will go live soon & we have team rooms named after each branch of the military. Personally, I have family that have served in all five branches. Thanks to all veterans for your service!
I had the pleasure of joining a panel of environmental and sustainability leaders today at @AWS Sustainability Summit to talk about our commitment to climate issues and fostering the next generation of environmentally-minded business leaders. #FosterInsights#SustainableBusiness

I had a wonderful evening attending the 19th Celebration of African Alumni Achievement, helping to raise money for and honoring this year’s Spratlen Legacy Award and Emerging Leader Award winners, Joanne Harrell, ‘79, and Brooke Spearmon, ’09.
As we get down to business in a new academic quarter, remember:
Your words matter.
Your behavior matters.
Our community matters.
See you on campus, @uwfosterschool!

As #WomensHistoryMonth comes to a close, I want to express how truly honored I am to work with amazing women leaders within the @UWFosterSchool, across the @UW campus, and in the broader community. Thank you for all that you do and for the wonderful people you are!
As @uw President Ana Mari Cauce made clear in her recent blog post,”We stand with the people of Ukraine in the face of this heartbreaking attack.”
Take time today to pause and consider the impact and implications of the heartbreaking Russian military invasion of Ukraine.
As life becomes a little more normal, and a lot better together, I encourage that we all remember:
Our words matter.
Our behaviors matter.
Our community matters.
And it's up to us to create a campus life that's enriching for everyone. I am so glad to see all of you.

Wonderful to spend time reflecting on the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with @University of Washington Foster School of Business students, staff, and faculty at the “54 for 54" walk at Green Lake today.
Thanks everyone for coming out!
