Carlijn Jacobs at Acne Paper Palais Royal

Created for the cover story of Autoportrait, the latest issue of Acne Paper, works by Carlijn Jacobs are now on view at Acne Paper Palais Royal, our permanent gallery space in Paris.

Featuring Lulu Tenney, the series explores the intersection of art, cinema, performance and self-expression through a central question of self-portraiture: what could be more immediate, and more radical, than becoming the artwork itself?

The exhibition is open from 25th June to 26th July

For Bouché, portraiture was less a matter of beauty than perception, revealing an intrinsic quality and the subtler signs of character that give an individual her presence.

The Women of René Bouché

Acne Paper Palais Royal presents a collection of 70 portrait drawings from the René Bouché Studio Archive, curated by Dean Rhys-Morgan, bringing them together for the first time since 1957.

Amongst the figures portrayed, Denise Lawson-Johnston is a recurring presence, a model, editor and René Bouché’s wife who inspired his work and later dedicated herself to preserving his legacy.

The exhibition is open from 9 April – 7 June 2026.
