PATHETIC FALLACY expands the stages of grief from devastating sadness to talking animals, synthwave music, and grisly slasher-style kills. That it’s a lot is an understatement, and the tonal swings can be jarring. Yet Adam Egypt Mortimer’s thematic consistency makes it sing.

Caught @adamegypt’s PATHETIC FALLACY last night at @BeyondFest. LOVED IT. It’s got music and musicians but it’s not a musical. It’s got serial killers, gore and dread but it’s not a horror movie. It’s got love, death, heartbreak and comedy but it’s not a rom-com. It’s got talking animals but it’s not BABE. It’s something entirely unique. And it’s great. Also @KiDCuDi is fantastic in it. (As is Jess Rothe)
