Half Dome was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. The most physically demanding. The most mentally exhausting. And without question, the scariest.

I started the climb at midnight and reached the summit before sunrise. Standing on top as the first light broke over Yosemite, I could feel the sun slowly warming my face, my body, and something deeper. After hours of darkness, fear, and effort, it felt like the sun was warming my soul.

@StevenMcinerney If you think about “value”, he might be the best signing we’ve ever made.

For the first time, a significant portion of America has no memory of September 11th at all. The 9/11 Memorial & Museum estimates that more than 100 million Americans are now either too young to remember that day or were born afterward.

Has just left my son’s soccer game. Parked. Headed to dinner. Looked back. Was dumbstruck. Grabbed the Nikon. Had the wrong lens. I mean who needs a 180-600mm for street photo? For soccer, yes. I rarely take vertical photos. But this the only real option.

I feel the need to inquire as to what the wardrobe strategy was for #AppleEvent

Rewatched pieces of American Beauty. This Spacey scene is brilliant. The most dangerous person is the person who has nothing to lose. One minute, you think you have the upper hand. The next, you realize you have no power.

Here’s the thing, when has trying to silence a whistleblower ever worked out? It’s always 100x worse.

Spacey’s line reading is chef’s kiss.

With the announcement that Liverpool have snagged Barcola (great get) for 123M British Sterling Pounds / 143M Euros, we have to ask, WHY are Manchester City ruining football?

“A lot of data points to the fact that in most of those cases, there was some sort of punishment involved in the activity. We know that punishment in the form of exercise is not a successful approach if you want your athletes to live.”

When confronted with wrongdoing, a guilty person may ask “Who told?” before asking “What did I do?”

In The Count of Monte Cristo, Abbé Faria is questioning Caderousse about the conspiracy against Edmond Dantès. The Abbé suddenly reveals that he knows Caderousse was present. Caderousse's immediate reaction isn't to consider what he's revealed or what he did.

It is:

“Who told you I was there?”

How do you know? Who talked? Who exposed me?

An innocent person might ask “What are you talking about?” A guilty person who realizes someone knows may immediately start trying to identify the source of the information.

@StevenMcinerney I'm just happy he found his level...The Championship.

I have very little sympathy for Julian Alvarez. Impatient and forced his way out of City. Wanted Barcelona. Chose Athletico. Signed a massive contract. Publicly aired his grievances. Indicated he only want Barcelona, who can’t afford him. Now, he’s stuck. So many poor decisions.

🚨 BREAKING: Thomas Tuchel speaking via Sky after England's World Cup exit:

🗣️ "Ball possession is maybe not in our English DNA like it is in Spanish or Argentinian-Brazilian DNA."

🗣️ "No structure in the world could have helped us."

🗣️ "We just struggled."

🗣️ "I'm 100% committed."

🗣️ "There is still enough to improve."

🗣️ "I still think we can win a major tournament."

Toy Story 5 Review Summary: Worst parents ever.

[Adam Kmiec @adamkmiec]

The Premier League exists solely to fine and sue clubs. I had Claude run an analysis back to 2005, comparing the PL against MLB, NFL, NHL, and the NBA.

The PL has fined its clubs more than the USA’s big 4 leagues combined. 😳

[Adam Kmiec @adamkmiec]

@slbsn It's fascinating. I've used Claude and ChatGPT to compile data from the past 20 years looking at how many times a league has fined or been involved in a court proceeding against a member team/club. The PL dwarfs the others combined.

@EBL2017 Because they can lose it in extra time next year? And then in regular time?
