A player came to me hitting it straight... and about 40 yards shorter.
He'd found a way to cancel out his toe-hook, but the fix was costing him big time. Here's how the wrong impact combination can fool you.

Golfer - I love the confidence of shaping it. I love sending it out in one direction and KNOWING it's going to curve one way. Eliminating one side.
Me - what shape do you play into this hole?
Golfer - draw obviously
Me - but if you knew it was going to curve one way, wouldn't you want to know that it curves AWAY from the danger? Eliminate that side?
Golfer - 😕

My buddy with his one way miss (left) vs me with my 2-way miss (right).
Face and path standard deviations around your desired target are more important.

My stats from @tangent.
My neutral path really hurts my accuracy and results in a two-way miss. Whatever will I do?
I guess time to start slinging them into the fairway 😉
Sure. But that’s effectively more of a two way miss. You’re aiming in a way to produce that.
It’s no better than the person who aims straight down the fairway and misses both sides/ways, given that dispersions are equal.
The post is addressing those who think that one-way miss is better than a two-way miss with a similar/tighter dispersion aimed properly
