Aliko Dangote, responding to the report that a Kenyan court has ordered a halt to construction, says this is normal in Africa and they don’t care, adding that this is a small issue.
“In Senegal, they stopped our factory. We went to the Supreme Court… anyone who wants to cause trouble, we are ready,” he says.
If you really care about the poor, you should take economic freedom seriously.
Poverty has a much harder time surviving in countries where a person with an idea can turn it into income without being trapped by officials, bribes, and rules written by people who never had to build anything.
Decades of data, from every corner of the world, keep saying this. And yet the politics around poverty never starts there.
Men lie, women lie, numbers don’t.

News: #Atlanta doctors to send $2.6 million worth of medical supplies to #Ethiopia for cardiac care mission
Addis Abeba – A team of doctors based in Atlanta, #Georgia, will send medical supplies worth $2.6 million to Ethiopia this month to support life-saving #heart procedures for 200 patients, according to a report by Fox 5 Atlanta.
The mission is being led by Ethiopian-born cardiologist Dr. Tesfaye Telila of #Piedmont_Hospital and his wife, Dr. Obsinet Merid of Morehouse School of Medicine, through their nonprofit organization, Heart Attack Ethiopia, Fox 5 Atlanta reported.
According to the report, a team of 50 medical professionals—including seven heart surgeons, interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, anesthesiologists, critical care specialists, and perfusionists from six countries—will travel to Ethiopia to carry out the procedures.
Fox 5 Atlanta said the initiative was founded after Dr. Telila lost his uncle in Ethiopia because he was unable to access interventional cardiology treatment. Telila said the experience highlighted the stark disparity in access to advanced cardiac care between Ethiopia and the #United_States.
Over the past three years, the nonprofit has expanded significantly and now has more than 600 volunteers supporting its work, according to the report.
The upcoming mission will also mark a first for the organization by introducing pediatric interventional cardiac procedures aimed at treating children with congenital heart defects, Fox 5 Atlanta reported. The July mission will be the nonprofit's fifth medical outreach to Ethiopia. AS
They dragged him out of a drainage pipe, beat him like an animal, and executed him on camera while the world watched.
They didn’t lynch Gaddafi because he was a dictator.
They killed him because he refused to kneel.
He wanted African resources to serve Africans. He pushed a gold-backed currency to break the Western banking stranglehold. He told foreign powers to get off African soil.
So NATO bombed Libya into rubble, murdered him on camera, and called it “liberation.”
Look at Libya today: slave markets, endless chaos, foreign looting.
That was the plan.
Gaddafi was no saint. But he was theirs.
And that’s exactly why the empire took him out.
Never forget what they did to Libya.
Update: I've joined @AnthropicAI and taken leave from the university. Excited to work with many talented, mission-driven people on the defining technology of our time.
