Diverting precious dollars from our public education system and putting them toward private services won't give students the support they so urgently need.

On this day in 1929, five courageous women led the way for women to be recognized as legal persons in Canada
This paved the way for great advancement
But, the struggle for many, including racialized & Indigenous women continues
Together, we can strive for better and we must
Reminder: sending your employees memos on mindfulness meditation, gratitude journaling, and self-care might help them cope with minor stressors in their lives, but it will NOT fix unsafe workplaces or workplace harassment/bullying. Do the work.

So much trauma and so much pain when people with no home have to move....some went to shelter and some to camp elsewhere. Please: if you see folks in a tent, instead of picking up the phone to complain, be kind and remember - we are all neighbours here. We are all doing our best.
Mi’gmaq fisherman take less than 5 percent of the lobster and this racism is the response. The feds must also lead by example and acknowledge and end their own systemic racism.
Canada can talk all it wants about reconciliation - but until rights like the Mi’kmaq fishing rights that are under attack right now in Nova Scotia are protected, we are just hypocrites saying meaningless words. Imagine if this attack on fisheries was reversed! Shameful.
TDSB says 7,500 students will be switching to virtual school this month. About 3,000 are moving from virtual to in-person. Before this week, there were 76,500 students in virtual school and some still don’t have an assigned teacher.
It bothers me when my principal says “those of you who have families” to mean teachers who have kids of their own. He doesn’t know why some of us aren’t parents. I know that I have fewer responsibilities than a person who has kids, but I do have a family.

For every famous political figure exposed at these events, there’s going to be a non-famous staffer who never makes the news, who doesn’t have the same access to rapid testing and treatment, and who had no say in the choice to eschew basic safety measures for symbolic reasons.
