Thrilled to share that “The Routledge Companion to Global Journalism and Media at the Borders” is set to be published by Routledge in November 2026. It is a true privilege to be included as a contributing author to this book.
HRCP is deeply concerned by the AJK government's decision to proscribe the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC) under anti-terrorism legislation ahead of its planned protest on 9 June. The use of counterterrorism laws against a group that has been mobilising around political and socioeconomic demands, and had called for a public protest, raises serious concerns about the shrinking space for peaceful assembly and dissent in this region.
At a time when elections are approaching in July, it is particularly important that fundamental freedoms, including the rights to expression, association and peaceful assembly, are fully protected.

Deeply saddened by the cold-blooded murder of poet, scholar, and fellow translator Prof. Ghamkhwar Hayat in Noshki today. A beautiful literary voice has been silenced through brutal violence. An immense loss!
There was a reduction of 21 paisa in petrol price in international market. But the government further increased the tax by Rs17.91 per litre to increase price to Rs415.
What sort of economic management is this?
Now Government is charging Rs117.5 per litre levy on petrol. This is even higher than Rs80 per litre agreement with the IMF.
Economy has been rendered into an accounting exercise. The cost of failure of FBR and the failure to seek any relaxation from IMF in pre-war targets is paid by common people.
