@ElephantsRule @vocebooks @FloodgatePress Shahida! I’m good, how are you and Anthony? Been a while (think last time was London after the first anti-Trump protest - 2018?) Be good to catch up. I’m not really on X now, migrated to Blue Sky - are you on there?
I’ve stopped posting on X for obvious reasons, but allow me to be a hypocrite and promote my forthcoming book of stories ‘Afternoon Drinking’ launched on Nov 6th. A long way off, but you can buy tickets now! (Link in comments if I can work out how to paste)…
It’s official. My next book - my third collection of stories - will be published in Autumn 2025 by Floodgate Press. It will be called ‘Afternoon Drinking’. Currently doing research for it down the pub. Thanks @FloodgatePress
AFTERNOON DRINKING - we’ll be publishing a new collection of short fiction from Brum-based writer and regular Floodgate contributor Alan Beard. Called Afternoon Drinking, you can expect the same raw, emotional, heartfelt prose that characterised Alan’s earlier collections.
My copy has finally arrived! My 3rd appearance in this series, if you count the earlier iteration ‘Best Short Stories’ (ed Giles Gordon). (I was in the 1991 edition).
If you’re looking for a Christmas present for a reader, this will do the trick! Full of great stuff.
