Today the Alarm Phone turns 11 years old. Since we started in Oct. 2014, we assisted over 10.000 boats in distress, trying to accompany them on their journeys to Europe. Also in the years to come, we’ll keep struggling with people on the move & for the freedom of movement of all!

The boat carrying over 150 people remains missing st sea!! We are extremely worried about the fate of this group and urge all authorities in the region to search for them. We hope that another invisible shipwreck can be averted - search for them before it is too late!

@HCoastGuard Media reports seem to indicate that the people disembarked in Loutro Sfakion, #Crete. We hope they will be able to access the medical assistance they need. So far, we did not reach the group to confirm this information.

🆘 from ~31 people South of #Crete #Greece

We were contacted by a group of 31 people on their way to the Greek island of #Crete. They are urgently in distress with water coming into their boat. We have informed @HCoastguard and urge them to rescue immediately!

The people report being without water for a long time and being very exhausted, especially the children on board and it's getting worse by the minute.
Meanwhile, @HCoastguard say they’ve sent rescue - we hope they arrive quickly & #RescueNow!

We later received confirmation that the people had been found by #Turkish coast guards & were taken back to #Türkiye. Alarm Phone condemns this blatantly illegal #pushback, a practice that has become all too common in the region. #NoPushback! Free passage for all!

🆘 Yesterday evening, Alarm Phone was in contact with a group of 35 people in distress near the island of #Inousses, #Greece. According to a relative, they had been pushed back to Turkish waters by @HCoastguard & their engine had been taken.

We've not had any contact with the 44 people for the last 2 days. @HCoastGuard said the so-called Libyan Coast Guards were responsible, who, however, say they couldn't find anyone. Where are they? We urge @HCoastGuard to search for them and provide safe passage to Europe for all!

We were called by people on the boat yesterday but have not heard from them since last night, when they told us water was entering the boat. We alerted all authorities including @HCoastGuard & urge them to send rescue now!

🆘 16 people missing in the #WesternMed. We were alerted by a relative of a boat that left Boumerdes #Algeria on 6th July. We have not had news from them since their departure. @Salvamentogob is alerted. We hope they will be found and brought to safety!

We’re in contact with a group of 10 ppl with 3 children close to #Evros river in the region of #Tychero. They’re in bad health condition with at least 2 ppl unconscious. We alerted @hellenicpolice and demand immediate assistance! 1/2

🆘 in the #Atlantic! A group left from #Gambia on July 5 by boat and is since missing. The authorities have been alerted but have no information. We demand an active search to find them as soon as possible!

🆘️ Another boat with 12 people missing in the #WesternMed. They left Oran, #Algeria, on June 29. Since then, there are no news from them. @Salvamentogob is alerted. Their relatives are worried. We hope they will be found alive!

🆘️ from 8 young people stuck in the forest near Nea Vyssa, #Evros, #Greece for 4 days! We are in contact with the group who is very exhausted & afraid of a #pushback! Some of them are hurt & cannot continue. Local police is informed that they need urgent medical assistance.
