Today the Alarm Phone turns 11 years old. Since we started in Oct. 2014, we assisted over 10.000 boats in distress, trying to accompany them on their journeys to Europe. Also in the years to come, we’ll keep struggling with people on the move & for the freedom of movement of all!
Today, the Common European Asylum System (CEAS) is coming into effect: more detentions, data collection and deportations. The violent and racist border policies of the #EU kill thousands of people every year. Alarm Phone calls to mobilise for a #FreedomOfMovement for all!
🆘️ from 18 people who arrived on the island of #Ikaria, #Greece!
We are in contact with the group who is calling for help. We informed local authorities that the group needs medical assistance. The local police said that they are looking for them. Send help now & no #pushback.
🆘 40 people adrift south of #Crete, #Greece!
Alarm Phone has alerted authorities to this group in distress. The people report water in the boat and several people over board! They need immediate assistance, rescue now before it is too late!
We learned from JRCC Cairo that the group was assisted by the crew of the SOUNION but taken to Port Said, #Egypt! We have not heard from the group again. We remain without information about the 8 people who reportedly went over board.
Where are they? The 180 people are still unreachable. Several boats seem to have been intercepted to #Mauritania, but families remain without news. We demand that the search operations continue!
#Dontletthemdrown
🆘 in the #Atlantic! We have lost contact with a boat carrying 180 people that left #Casamance on May 24. The authorities have been informed but are not providing any information. We stand with the families and demand that the search continue. Where are they?
We have not heard from the group for some time and the Greek authorities are not telling us if they assisted them or not. We hope they are safe but fear this was a #pushback
🆘️ ~ 13 people, including 2 children in urgent need of medical assistance near Kissatio, #Greece!
We are in contact with a group who reports that one child fell into the water & is in critical condition & that another child is injured. We alerted local authorities.
Anti-migrant violence is, once again, escalating in #Libya. People on the move are targeted and assaulted. Yet, the EU continues its collaboration with Libyan authorities and militias to capture those trying to escape this violence.
Libya Crimes Watch (LCW) is monitoring with grave concern the escalation of serious violations, hate speech, and incitement to violence targeting migrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and foreign workers in Libya since the beginning of June 2026. These include arbitrary detentions, raids on and forcible evictions from places of residence, and physical and verbal assaults, occurring alongside a surge in hate speech and incitement against these groups across the country
