The biggest myth about onchain payments is that they are risky because they cannot be reversed.
That is a design choice, not a law.
A smart contract can hold money in escrow, open a refund window, run a dispute, set spending limits, and recover funds. Every protection a card bolts on after the fact can be built into the payment itself.
Cards made payments safe by stacking a slow, expensive layer on top. Onchain, the protection lives inside the transaction. Instant and safe at the same time.
It does not feel that way yet because most products use stablecoins only to settle and keep the rules offchain. That is changing.
Soon the safest place to take a payment will be onchain.
