Have you ever had acupuncture and wonder how it works? The chi, life energy circulates through our plasmic biofield. According to my psychic friend she sees a web of meridians hovering beyond the skin and the points are where the whorls of chi cycle in and out. Trying to imagine a microview of a miasma being released from the needling.

The visionary mystical experience is at the foundation of all world wisdom traditions. The repeatability of access to otherworldly spiritual dimensions afforded by the hallucinogens has given visionary artists a new realm to explore and describe in their creations. By depicting their most impactful experiences artists are able to pass along some of the healing and uplifting power given us by mystic states of awareness.

It takes a mystical recognition, to see oneself as participating in the Divine Cosmic unfolding. We are not merely witnessing the world, our Minds are constructing and projecting reality through neurological, psychological, sociological, and theological filters. The Eye of God is a symbol of our Eternal Self, the “I AM,” the Soul and life principle shining in all living creatures. By aligning our creative will with sacred source we become extensions and ambassadors of the divine, expressing Spirit into Matter.

This workshop offers a six-hour single pose of one female model, with a break every thirty minutes. The extended pose will allow careful observation of the model to study form, proportion, color, lighting, composition and character. The aim of this day-long session is to approach an ability to paint the figure realistically.

The Projected Desert is an artificial canyon where psychedelic journeys become a reality.

Meow Wolf Las Vegas features Projected Desert, an environment with 16 laser projections that achieve a seamless blend of moving image animations. Featuring artwork by some of the most accomplished contemporary Visionary Artists, including @alexgrey & @allysongrey, visitors who explore, climb and stroll through this psychedelic environment, encounter the “Nulas,” inhabitants of the Projected Desert, their appearance designed by me. The soundscape is by Brian ENO and it’s awesomely beautiful.

Thank you to Corvas Brinkerhof for putting together the stellar lineup of artists who make this space an extraordinary attraction.

We are in a “normalcy” trance most of the time. There is just a certain balance of neurochemystery that keeps reality steady and if you change that saturation a bit by smoking or ingesting via aya then you access different dimensions. Millions of people have entered those mystic visionary realms, encountering beings and vistas of wonder. Visionary art becomes a way to report on these encounters with the infinite. The Transfiguration painting was modeled after my first encounter with this sacrament in 1993. Entering a geometric world and tapping into the source of reality our consciousness is capable of seeing both our impermanent finite body and unlimited spiritual being. The painting becomes a touchstone for remembering the experience, and a transpersonal symbol of ascension and embodiment.

The path of love is unique for every person. Allyson and I got lucky and found each other in our early 20s. I feel most fortunate having been blessed with decades of being with my best friend, lover and spiritual teacher. The past fifty years together has been a crucible of transformation for us both, powered by creative love energy. Sharing a common purpose to build a sanctuary for visionary art has brought us in touch with a global community of friends. We see the creation of Entheon as a collective sacred offering, a symbol of transcendental unity being given to the world by the tens of thousands of people who have contributed to making it happen over decades. Every visitor to CoSM and Entheon is a temple builder with us. Thank you to CoSM Staff and supportive members, and to all the folks who go to CoSM shop. The inevitable consequence of love is the building of temples!

Happy Valentine's Day! Allyson and I have been together since the Summer of 1975. Choosing the path of a committed love relationship, somewhere along the line one’s greatest psychological challenges will come forward. We express and project our shadow onto one another. When these personal challenges are complementary, they can heal in the context of love & support. Emotional pathologies that are dissonant, not complementary, can accelerate dysfunction and negatively impact the relationship. Along with this, mutual respect and gratitude are key. The expression, “my better half” describes knowing that, with our flaws and their strengths, the other partner is really "...too good for me. How fortunate I am to have been gifted this partner. With my partner, I become a better person.” Infinite love to Allyson.

Whether you are with or without a partner today, may you celebrate the power of love. May you melt into the cosmic flow. The sacred and transformative path of love is unique for every person. Some relationships are meteoric, burn brightly, last briefly whereas some couples burn with passion for a lifetime. Is it possible that your relationship is perfect as it is and that your partner is perfect as they are, perfect for you for this moment? Pondering that one helped me be less reactive and defensive in my conversations. What is the gift that is being offered in difficult moments, the teaching we are meant to learn about ourselves and our relationship with the beloved and with the one infinite consciousness seeing through all selves?
