The World Cup begins tomorrow, and many will watch the matches. Soccer reminds us of something we must not forget: life is not a race to show off on our own, but a path we learn to walk together. Anyone who does not know how to pass the ball, even if they have talent, has not yet understood the game. Anyone who does not know how to live with and for others has not yet understood life. #ApostolicJourney
Scotland’s new finance secretary has never heard of the Scottish government’s Tax Advisory Group. Which suggests she doesn’t know about @DanNeidle either. Which is a shame, since he’s a member of the group.
Nevertheless, she should heed his good advice.

The VAT threshold is *either* much too high or much too low at present. It's probably slightly better to reduce it to, say, £50,000 than to increase it. But increasing it to £150,000 is a lot better than leaving it where it is at present (£90K).
Imagine if we played the entire World Cup in SEC and BIG 10 stadiums instead of soulless NFL corporate slop stadiums.
THIS is the real America.
Not some parking lot in Arlington.

Wait! Last week, John Swinney confirmed that the referendum appeal money had been spent on other things but this was no kind of a problem.
This week: OK, yes it was a problem and we've spent years lying to our own supporters. Next time we'll do better!
(But - wait, again! - the money Murrell stole was *not* the same money as the money given to the referendum appeal fund which the party now says it spent incorrectly.)
