This is a reaction to the AI apocalypse. Abundant: online time, code. Scarce, bottlenecked by human talent: these specific games https://t.co/3doxHxtcqj
@packyM Packy, I love your work but you are off on this one. They had a Chase card presale a couple weeks ago. NBA finals general public onsale would have less than 500 tickets available. This is just one of those once in a lifetime black swan type events.
Never stops being hilarious to type "Jony Ive" over and over on any Apple device and having Autocorrect repeatedly turn it into "Jony Iโve", the perfect encapsulation of so many things about all concerned
THIS GUY LIVES UNDER SFO'S TAKEOFF PATH SO HE BUILT A CEILING PROJECTOR THAT TRACKS EVERY PLANE FLYING OVER HIS HOUSE IN REAL TIME
he uses a cheap $30 radio receiver to pick up the signals that planes broadcast while flying.
then projects them onto his ceiling in real time
when a jet flies over his house you hear it outside and at the exact same moment a plane glides across his ceiling labeled with the airline, aircraft type, and destination
pure black background so the projector's rectangle disappears and only the aircraft are visible
but he didn't stop at planes
it also draws the real sky behind them. sun, moon, bright stars, constellations, and live satellites including the ISS. all at their true positions for his exact location and time in real time
so he's lying in bed watching the actual night sky projected onto his ceiling with real planes crossing through it as they take off from SFO
there is a huge market for every man alive that runs outside to see the helicopter
vibe coded the whole thing himself with a cheap radio, a projector, and some clever software
The most underappreciated founder demographic in New York City in May 2026, according to one of the most contrarian VCs in the country: nepo babies.
Not the ones who inherit the family business. The ones who don't.
@bonatsos, formerly General Catalyst, now Verdict:
"you need to pick the right nepo baby, the one who has huge chips on their shoulders, because they're not the ones that are in line to take over the family business"
"individuals can have significant unfair advantage over others"
The thesis: most people overestimate IQ and underestimate information alpha. A nepo founder with real agency, taste, and access becomes fluent in rooms it would take other founders a decade to even enter. Government rooms. Enterprise rooms. Sovereign capital rooms.
The advantage isn't the trust fund. It's the proximity.
any startups want to hire this person?
she's my oldest friend & is the person with the most energy in any room despite the 5am daily wakeup for barry's.
And fwiw I don't think you should "invest in nepo babies" as a strategy. Firstly, this is a stochastic game; secondly, they have enough going for them that they don't need us to operationalize it.
