We are friends with Rabbi Marc Gafni's spiritual community One Mountain. The Rabbi is a wise, loving leader who deeply listens and cares for people. https://t.co/jLJzr0AGF8
We should make AI that has compassion for all beings, and walks the path sufficiently to know how to care for life. To do that, we have created Monastic Academy.

Just as there are iterated meta levels (“meta meta” levels and so on), so too there are iterated objects levels (“object object” levels and so on). The “object level” is the thing that some sentence is *about*. The object object level is the thing that *that’s* about, and so on.
We shouldn’t say “I’ll practice so that I no longer feel this grief”; we should say “it’s good that I’m feeling this grief because it will drive me to practice”
The funniest example. How to enter a house unnoticed if there’s a large dog? InstructGPT suggests disguising yourself as the dog. Who says AI is uncreative?
I’ve been running a little experiment where I tried thinking only sad angry thoughts for one month to see if it would make me happy. Turns out not! Will try something else going forward.
