Had a beautiful long coaching session with her. She calls me several times in the day now. Just to say

Bacha Party sent a whole bunch of toys which had her smiling from ear to ear, even in her pain. She loved the dolls bartans, and toy make up. Bless her. Remember she’s been lying down staring at the ceiling ever since she’s been in hospital.
When I asked her if there was anything she wanted, she gave me her beautiful grin and said
“Chips!”
I asked, “aur?”
She said immediately, “chocolate”.
We sat and chatted till her snacks came.

Spoke to her doc in detail.
Sadly her fever spiked a little today. That’s worrying.
The doc said one of the reason was too many visitors. The more traffic in the room, the more susceptible Rizwana is to the infection spreading.

At one point, she just started talking spontaneously about what had happened to her. And I listened.
She told me the judge would slap her. The kids kicked balls on her. She told me she was subjected to standing outside in the rain, for hours, screaming to be let in. This explains her lung infection.
I listened quietly. Then when she was finished I used some small NLP techniques to help reframe her reality. Just to bring her to the present moment. I don’t want her slipping into a depression. Or sleeping with these memories again. Had her laughing with me by the end of the session. She is so so so very brave. She looks forward to
Our sessions and wanted to know when I’d come again. So I discussed her schedule with the doc and booked in a few more sessions with her. She wants a flag for 14th August in her room.

We both said a dua together. She asked Allah
“Jaldi theek kardo. Jaldi se chalna hain phir se.”

Dr Feriha Peracha has agreed to meet her professionally. She is one of the best mental health experts we have. I’m deeply grateful.
It’s going to be a long, slow road to healing. But we have all got her back. She also has a great medical team at General Hospital. Dr Parash is amaaaazing and so genuinely concerned for her safety and well-being. The sisters are also all incredibly attentive and kind, and super professional.

Please keep her in your prayers! And help keep her voice and case alive!

When I was leaving, she kept moving her broken arm, in a cast from hand to shoulder, kept moving it on the bed, as she tried to wave me goodbye. It broke my heart. But Alhamdolillah I see solutions. I see her healing. Especially when j see her smile and hear her try to laugh. Bless her. She has open wounds all over her body, face and head, but she’s a child, and children always choose healing, if they can.

Slowly she will learn to trust that some people are here to stay. Forever.

I do not know why Rizwana was beaten as badly as she has been. Why she was tortured, neglected, starved and left to rot with maggots eating her wounds. I have no idea how and why someone could do that to a child, to anyone.

But I do know that #childdomesticlabour is ONLY exploiting children and middle
Men who traffic children are benefitting from unethical people hiring children who should be SAFE AND in school.

You are doing no one a favour by stealing a child’s future. If you can afford to hire them, you can afford to send them to school.

Do not fall prey to people begging you to hire their children. In fact warn them it is a crime and they could be prosecuted.

I PRAY for the day we FINE AND PROSECUTE people who are caught hiring children, and also question their parents.
