@HMRCcustomers Oh, yes. I have a general question. Have you ever thought of asking sole traders and freelancers what helps them, when it comes to taxes?
@RoyalMail A stockpile of post delivered today, 1st class items, dating back to 16th May. Also, an actual security risk, because bank card and pin in the same delivery. You need to fix it. At once. 1st class post is your 1st priority, and it comes the next day, no excuses.
@HMRCcustomers While I'm on Twitter, I haven't heard yet that you have back-tracked on making tax digital, which is completely unacceptable. It needs to be the same way it always was; once a year, HMRC website or on paper, as the taxpayer prefers. You should have fixed it by now.
@AskNationwide Also, your debit card design is a security risk. If I read my long number, anybody nearby can also read my special security number. Please sort this out. I do not want to have to cancel a card every time I think somebody looked over my shoulder.
@AskNationwide New card and new pin came in the same delivery because royal mail don't do 1st class post any more, instead saving post from as far back as 10 days ago. This is a security risk: you need to complain to Royal Mail so that all Nationwide post is delivered properly.
@HMRCcustomers@HMRCcustomers Hmm. Suppose you are going to a thing at the library that counts as CPD and then you have been asked to do some shopping in town while you are there?
@HMRCgovuk If I work in place A and am going to a 'training' session in place B, can I claim bus tickets to get to place B as a business expense? I am self-employed. I asked your customer support and got a gobbledegook reply.
@HMRCcustomers If I work in place A and am going to a 'training' session in place B, can I claim bus tickets to get to place B as a business expense? I am self-employed.
@HMRCcustomers And also, you still need to cancel making tax digital for anybody who is not vat-registered. I don't think you have done it yet? Filing taxes should be free at the point of use, and the insistence on third-party software exposes you and the taxpayer to fraud.
@HMRCcustomers What is the position on claiming for eye tests as a business expense if self-employed and 'working all day in front of a computer monitor' (https://t.co/tQUEgIoedx).
@Plusnet Why should I phone? The last time I phoned, I got someone who didn't know anything and wouldn't help. It's quite simple. If you email me, I should be able to email you back.
@Plusnet I've had an email about phone line switch off. The email & your website appear to be claiming that I have to switch to fttp but that's not actually true, is it? I need greater transparency, actual dates & costs, and better customer services. This is most disappointing.
@Plusnet I have new email, says I'm switching to ee in 30 days. I phoned already. I want to remain with plusnet fibre to cabinet but lose the phone line rental, at a reduction in cost. This was not offered anywhere & person I spoke to on the phone before couldn't help. Please fix it.
@Plusnet I can't be bothered to phone up; tired of speaking to idiots on the phone. Also, I will apparently get an email 28 days before they cut the landline so the matter is not so urgent that I have to sort things out today. Feedback: Don't use 'we are urging' or 'as soon as possible'.
@HMRCcustomers Does the flat rate expenses for 'use of home' (self-employed, freelance, or sole trader) cover house insurance (buildings and contents), or should I calculate a suitable proportion of house insurance (building and contents) and add it to my tax deductible expenses?
