💛 I'm proud to be the SNP candidate for Glasgow Central. It's been an honour to campaign across this new constituency, and have so many conversations on the doors.
🗳️🗳️ Make it Both Votes SNP on the 7th of May
No one bikes in Glasgow bro. There's like hills bro. Everyone wants to drive their cars around bro.
This was what the biking was like my entire way home from work from southside to west end.
There’s been a lot of talk about buses today...
Our £2 bus fare cap is already live in parts of Scotland, we are rolling it out across the country, and young people under 22 travel for free under the SNP.
We are supporting people with the cost of living by expanding our £2 bus fare cap across Scotland.
Going beyond the Highlands and Islands pilot, starting in Strathclyde, our nationwide cap will ensure more people benefit from affordable public transport.
The takeaway here is simple: Sarwar isn’t guided by principle - he’s guided by whatever advances his own career.
This is a man who would have cut a deal with Reform UK if it meant getting the keys to Bute House.
@robwilson456@rosscolquhoun@andyburnham Anas led Scottish Labour to their worst Scottish Parliament electoral defeat in 2021, then did even worse this year when he made the election campaign narrative all about him.
He also promised to abolish the House of Lords until it suited him to abandon ship and head off there.
@robwilson456@rosscolquhoun@andyburnham Not at all, I have no problem with the list and think it's an important part of our democracy.
Merely pointing out that Anas stood in Glasgow Central in 2015 and didn't win, Glasgow Southside in 2021 and didn't win, and Glasgow Cathcart and Pollok in 2026 and also didn't win.
Instead of sticking to their historic ambition to abolish the House of Lords Labour should now commit to abolish the House of Commons. Why bother with the tiresome business of getting elected when you can simply appoint whoever you want to Government.
Andy Burnham showing he's in touch with Scotland by handing a man who has consistently got his party its worst results here a cushy job for life and a role in government. I love democracy ❤️😍
Burnham: I won’t respect democracy in Scotland, so I’m denying you a referendum.
Also Burnham: Lose your seat, deliver Scottish Labour’s worst-ever result, and I’ll put you in the unelected House of Lords.
Incredible.
In May, I asked Anas Sarwar whether he’d take a seat in the House of Lords if he lost the election. His answer was no. He said he was focused on serving the people of Scotland.
He seems to have changed his tune.
Story from May for @heraldscotland : https://t.co/v9HWatY39Y
👀 Anas Sarwar lost his seat, delivered Scottish Labour’s worst-ever result and previous promised Labour would scrap the House of Lords.
Now it’s being reported that @andyburnham is going to put him in it. Failing upwards?
@theSNP 7) Another senior Labour source says Sarwar "claiming he was sticking around to rebuild the party" only for him to "walk away at the first chance of a cushy ministerial gig and a seat in the Lords" will come as a "kick in the teeth to hard working members".
Progress in the global HIV response over the past 25 years has been nothing short of incredible.
Ending AIDS by 2030 remains possible.
But it requires sustained financing, the protection of human rights, support for community-led responses, and access to innovation for all who need it.
Timely editorial from @TheLancet:

😳 Out of 37 Scottish Labour MPs, Andy Burnham has given just ONE a senior ministerial role.
⁉️ If he doesn't trust them with Cabinet positions, why should we trust them to deliver for Scotland?
