Been working on my 2nd oil painting ever on canvas during this artist residency, so here’s a lil time lapse of what my days have looked like lately!

The theme for these two months at Time to be Happy Gallery, was honestly a hard one IMO:

“What is your gift to the world? What do you offer to the world?”

A heavy question honestly, (Benzi is good at asking those and really forcing you to sit with it) and I think about legacy in regard to that. As this painting evolves towards completion, I think you will grasp what I feel my gift to the world is.

A hint: I went into the dark, so you don’t have to.

For now, it’s very much in its beginning ugly phases of underpainting. Oils take a while to dry, so it’s teaching me a lot of patience. I personally don’t think I’ll be finished with this until mid June.

Also if you peep close, you may see an @EfdotStudio blob chillin’ on my hat 🫶
The blobs stay on!

Ending this post with this: it feels really good and inspiring to be around so many different artists and have space to do things I normally wouldn’t. Forever grateful for opportunities like this🫂

Remembrance is important. And we continue the remembrance of a vital member of the @solana art community today with The Bridget Merkle Scholarship for Women Creatives.

Application process is now open.

There are two ways in which one can apply:

• Nominate someone else. Fill out the application on behalf of a woman artist in web3 you feel is deserving of this scholarship. Doing this kindness to nominate another person will put you in a raffle to receive 15 million in BONK. 2 winners will be selected.

• Nominate yourself. This will in no way affect your opportunity in receiving the scholarship. We understand there are artists out there who may not have the following or eyes on them, but are equally as deserving.

Applications will remain open until September 4th.

Unable to apply, but would still like to contribute? @FubbyFourTeen and @sentientshapes are currently running a Pink Skull Queen inspired art collection to further raise funds and ensure this memorial scholarship continues for years to come. Stay tuned for an announcement for them on how to submit.
