Nadine started at an Amazon delivery station. Jessica started at a fulfillment center. Today, Nadine assembles solar panels on Leo satellites. Jessica tests components in our space simulation lab.
Both earned aerospace certifications at no cost to them through Amazon's Career Choice program, and are now one of thousands of people at Amazon helping build, launch, and operate our growing satellite network.

Following our agreement to acquire @Globalstar, we've filed with the @FCC to deploy the Leo D2D System—up to 5,105 new satellites that will bring voice, data, messaging, and emergency services directly to compatible mobile devices. .@AmazonLeo and @hero_telecoms just signed an agreement to bring fast, reliable satellite internet to areas of South Africa where existing broadband can’t reach. The service is called Evry, and it will be offered by Herotel and powered by Leo.

LA-08 was our final Atlas V mission with @ULAlaunch as we transition to its new, heavy-lift Vulcan rocket.
Look back at the Leo Atlas era—from the inaugural launch that kicked off a full-scale deployment of Amazon Leo, to Leo Atlas 8, which brought our constellation to nearly 400 satellites in orbit.
LA-08 was also the last time Atlas V flew in its most powerful 551 configuration. The "551" is a naming code:
5 = five-meter payload fairing
5 = five solid rocket boosters strapped to the core
1 = single-engine Centaur upper stage
And helped make our 29-satellite stack the heaviest payload in Atlas V history.
Last few launches were big for @AmazonLeo - bringing us to 390+ satellites deployed, enough to support continuous service across initial latitudes.
Still lots of work ahead – including raising all these new satellites to their assigned altitude – but we’ve completed enough launches for initial service this yr, and future missions just add coverage and capacity.

Our 29-satellite payload has been transferred to @ULAlaunch for integration with Atlas V, and launch is set for Thurs, Jul 2 at 12:24 a.m. ET – adding to the 350+ Leo satellites already in orbit as we prepare to roll out service to customers.
.@HitachiCME will use Amazon Leo to connect remote construction sites across the UK and Germany.
Hitachi is the first construction machinery manufacturer to use Leo, and with a global network running on @AWS, will be able to use the service to move data directly from remote sites to existing cloud resources.

The launch of a United Launch Alliance Atlas V 551 rocket carrying the next batch of production satellites for Amazon Leo, Leo 8, is planned for Thursday, July 2, pending range approval. The 29-minute launch window opens at 12:24 a.m. EDT.
