If there are any illegalities in the formation of this Refinery,then it must be combated until its straightened. If theres not,we must also stop using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. Why is anyone going to high court to stop such a project,over very petty concerns? In as much as we have our doubts about anything that Ruto puts his hands on,We must also accept that Whether Tutam or Wantam,this refinery is good for us as a country

Kenyas Real GDP is about 11.4 Trillion. Dangote is making an investment almost 20% of that for an Oil Refinery in Lamu. That for once,is an excusable fact to explain why this project is such in a rush,theres alot of money at stake and that which also needs to start moving, remember this refinery wasnt even supposed to be built here,Ruto had announced it would be built in Jumuiya,kule Tanga

For 700,000barrels per day,we need to make things easier for Dangote as we can,without of course compromising the livelihoods of our people. The ripple effect this industry will have is very outrageous. For a start,Gulf Energy is currently setting up equipment in south Lokichar,where they are about to start drilling about 20,000b/pd. The important thing to note is This oil is being drilled for it to be exported,to oman for refining. And come back as fuel. Surely?

And also,Kenya alone cannot even quench the thirst of this refinery,the maximum out put for that Lokichar basin is 50,000barrels per day,that is to say we will be 650,000b/pd short. So we will have to look to Uganda,south sudan,Tanganyika and maybe Angola, Trucks will be moving here like nonsense,because pipeline is expensive

Theres alot of business possibilities that will erupt as a ripple effect of just this one refinery. So again,lets not give this man a hard time

Ruto ajiite kamkutano and ask himself why almost every major project associated with his government quickly becomes a debate about ownership, private interests, and who is really sitting behind the investment, even where the project itself may make economic sense.

The bigger problem is no longer the project being announced, because many Kenyans have developed a deep suspicion that somewhere inside every huge deal Ruto has connected interests waiting to benefit, and that perception now follows Ruto into almost everything his government touches.

That is why simply telling people that the Dangote refinery means jobs, investment and industrial growth will not settle the argument, because the first question many people are asking is no longer whether a refinery is useful, but who ultimately benefits from the structure surrounding it.

Ruto has reached a point where a large section of the public appears unwilling to take major investment announcements at face value, and aggressive public relations only makes that trust problem harder to ignore.

The issue is not that Kenyans suddenly hate development, factories, refineries, roads or foreign investors, because people understand perfectly well that a country needs large investments to grow and create jobs for its population.

The problem is that Ruto has allowed questions about private interests, political connections, and personal benefit to become part of the public conversation around major government-backed investments, meaning even projects that could genuinely help Kenya arrive immediately carrying political suspicion.

Maybe Dangote is simply the investor everyone can see, and there is nothing else behind the arrangement, but Ruto should understand why people now instinctively ask whether the visible face of a major investment is the whole story.

That is the real political damage here, because once citizens start believing that the people announcing development may also have private interests somewhere inside the deal, every new project stops being judged purely on jobs, taxes and economic value.

Ruto cannot solve that problem by portraying every critic as anti-development, because the argument is no longer about whether Kenya should develop, but whether citizens trust the people arranging these enormous deals to separate public interest from private benefit.

And that is the kamkutano he needs to have with himself, because the biggest problem facing his projects may no longer be the opposition, activists, or critics, but the level of distrust that now follows his name into the room before the project has even been explained.
