A special live show tonight with @robertearlkeen for the amazing Rich Brotherton, who played lead for REK for so many years. Rich is hands down one of the most influential guitarists around in my mind and a legend. We may also see Brian Duckworth who was an important early figure in the early days of REK. It’s a pretty special event and I sure wish I was there to celebrate. https://t.co/UyOXkQDfzy
Texas lost a legend today.
Frank Beard, the drummer for ZZ Top, has passed away.
For more than 50 years, he was the backbeat behind one of the most unmistakable sounds to ever come out of this state…blues, boogie, swagger and groove that could only be ZZ Top.
Fantastic story on the recently departed red dirt legend Terry Buffalo. I did not know Terry but hearing the few stories, I would have loved him and thanked him for his contribution to music for decades. Sending all the love to Terry's family, our personal hero @raywylie & fam along with the great John Fullbright and fam.
I hope Terry Buffalo is strumming with Jimmy LaFave right about now. Nice job @OtisGibbs as always, love your youtube.
Looking forward to picking up Terry's book on https://t.co/slEXB48xyn

Drayton Farley has been dubbed an artist on rise.
His music has been featured on @paramountplus' “Landman” and @CBS’ “Sheriff Country.” Now making his national TV debut is Farley with "I Need Your Love."
Rest in peace, Raul. I have so many great memories at your shows and no one quite carried a stage like you and your tremendous band. You were a force. Sending love and hugs to your family, friends and bandmates on this sad day.
It’s with the deepest grief we share the passing of our friend, bandmate and brother Raul Malo on December 8th, 2025 at the age of 60.

I am sure, like many, I have been down the deep rabbit hole of great Todd Snider videos the past few days. The KK Rider story is one of legends. https://t.co/4Fi5vLoQXr
We’re saddened to hear of Todd Snider’s passing. He appeared on eTown in 1995, and we are grateful to have had that time together. He built a legacy on saying things the way he saw them, through countless great songs and albums. We’ll miss that voice.

If you look at the front row of this photo of Todd Snider performing in Luckenbach circa 1996, you’ll see a baby faced Cody Canada standing next to a baby faced Jason Boland. A torch was lit and passed that day.
@galleywinter Perfectly stated, as always, @BradBeheler. It’s hard to convey the pillar that Todd Snider has been for decades to Texas Music. Highly recommend to all Todd’s book. https://t.co/YJbr7pQhB0 as it has such great stories around a lot of the music we love. Rest Easy, Todd.
@ToddSnider, you meant the world to me through your stories. Talkin’ Seattle Blues set the hook in the ’90s as my playlist consisted of grunge and @robertearlkeen. Beer Run was an absolute anthem for many of us in college. Those two songs brought me in, but the rest of your songs captured me for life. I loved your stories, especially your book. I loved that you were the preacher at Jason Isbell and @amandashires’s wedding. I loved that you loved Billy Joe Shaver, REK, and Jerry Jeff. Like many, I am heartbroken today. Your contribution to music, songwriting, and mastery of storytelling will live on forever, my friend. Till then, I’ll listen to Play a Train Song, as it always reminds me to be who you want to be, enjoy life, and smile a little. RIP to one of the absolute greatest, @ToddSnider. Highly recommend his book https://t.co/MgXhz59Wb0
