GOA’S CHILDREN DESERVE TO LEARN GOA’S STORY.

The issue before us is not Marathi versus Konkani. It is about whether Goa’s own literary heritage is receiving the respect it deserves.

Goa two leading newspapers have reported that the Marathi textbooks prescribed by SCERT Goa are overwhelmingly dominated by authors from outside Goa, while many distinguished Goan Marathi writers have been left out.

With these reports, SCERT owes an explanation to every Goan.

Goa has made invaluable contributions to both Konkani and Marathi literature. Our students must grow up reading the works of Goan writers who have preserved our history, culture, traditions and values.

No one is questioning the contribution of writers from other States. But Goa’s classrooms cannot become places where Goa’s own literary voices are pushed into the background.

Every language taught in Goa—whether Konkani, Marathi, English or any other—must adequately represent Goa’s own authors and cultural heritage.

We demand transparency from SCERT.
We demand fair representation for Goan writers.
We demand that Goa’s children learn about Goa through the words of Goans.

GOA DESERVES ANSWERS, NOT ASSURANCES. PUT IT IN WRITING.

Today, we held a protest outside Vidyut Bhavan, Panaji, alongside concerned citizens from across Goa.

If the BJP Government has truly scrapped the ₹890 crore Prepaid Smart Meter Project, it must issue an official notification—not just make verbal announcements.

We demand:
• Official order scrapping the project.
• Refund of excess-load penalties.
• Correction of inflated bills.
• No disconnections over disputed bills.
• Accountability for the ₹890 crore project.
• Clarity on the 43,000+ smart meters already installed.
• Justice and compensation for affected consumers.

Goans deserve transparency, accountability and action—not empty assurances.

Though positions may change, the purpose of public life remains constant: to serve.

Over the last four years, I had the privilege of serving as President of the @INCGoa. More than a responsibility entrusted to me by the party, it was an opportunity to stand with the people of Goa, understand their aspirations, raise their concerns, and work towards protecting the identity, dignity, and future of our beloved state.

I begin by expressing my deepest gratitude to CPP Chairperson Hon Smt. Sonia Gandhi Ji, Congress President Hon Shri @kharge Ji, Leader of Opposition Shri @RahulGandhi Ji, General Secretary Smt. @priyankagandhi Ji, General Secretary (Organisation) Shri @kcvenugopalmp Ji, Ex AICC In-Charge of Goa Shri @dineshgrao Ji, and the entire leadership of the @INCIndia for the trust, guidance, and confidence they placed in me. Their unwavering commitment to the values of democracy, social justice, and inclusive development continues to inspire millions of Congress workers across the nation.

Serving the Congress Party in Goa has been one of the greatest honours of my public life. Any achievements during this journey belong not to any individual, but to the countless Congress workers, office bearers, leaders, supporters, and well-wishers who stood united through every challenge. Their dedication, sacrifice, and faith strengthened the organisation and ensured that the voice of Goa continued to be heard with conviction and courage.

The Indian National Congress has always been far greater than any position or individual. It is an institution built by generations of leaders and workers who dedicated themselves to the ideals of freedom, secularism, social justice, and national unity. To be a small part of that legacy is a matter of immense pride and responsibility.

To every Congress worker across Goa, I wish to say this: our mission remains unchanged. We must continue to stand with the people, protect Goa’s unique identity, safeguard democratic values, and work tirelessly for a stronger, more prosperous, and more inclusive future.

Public service is not defined by the office one holds, but by the commitment one carries in the service of society. That commitment remains unwavering. My dedication to Goa, its people, and the ideals of the Congress Party remains as strong today as it has always been.

As one chapter concludes, another begins. New opportunities to serve the people, strengthen the organisation, and contribute to the larger cause of justice, dignity, and progress lie ahead. My faith in the people of Goa remains unshaken, and my resolve to work for their aspirations remains undiminished.

What I carry forward is the trust of the people, the affection of countless Goans, and the responsibility that comes with both. These are not merely memories of a chapter completed—they are the foundation of the journey ahead.

Let us move forward together with courage, humility, and hope, confident that Goa’s best days are still ahead of us.

The true strength lies not in titles or positions, but in the unwavering spirit of those who refuse to give up on Goa and its people.

We spoke up whenever Goa’s interests were at stake and worked tirelessly to ensure that the concerns of ordinary citizens were not ignored.

Every village visited, every booth strengthened, every meeting held, every campaign undertaken, and every challenge faced was a testament to the collective determination of people who love Goa deeply and are willing to work for its future.

I remain grateful to every worker, every supporter, every colleague, and every citizen who walked this path with me. Your trust, affection, and unwavering commitment have been the greatest source of strength.

My commitment to Goa, to its people, and to the values of public service remains unchanged. The responsibility to serve does not come from a position; it comes from conviction, purpose, and a deep sense of duty towards society.
