Civilians must not pay the price of ongoing hostilities continue in Yemen. All parties to the conflict must comply with international humanitarian law and ensure that civilians are protected. Preventing further civilian suffering must be the priority .

Under international humanitarian law, civilians and civilian infrastructure must not be targeted and indiscriminate and disproportionate attacks are prohibited. Warring parties must take all feasible precautions to spare civilians and civilian objects.

On the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearance, the Abductees’ Mothers Association, in a joint statement with the Justice Charter Alliance for Yemen, warns that any closure of secret prisons without independent judicial oversight and without enabling victims and their families to access the truth poses a serious threat to victims’ rights, opens the door to the concealment of evidence of torture and enforced disappearance, and allows perpetrators to evade accountability.

The Association calls for the urgent disclosure of the fate of all forcibly disappeared persons, redress for victims and their families, and guarantees of accountability and justice.

قبيل اليوم الدولي لضحايا الاختفاء القسري في 30 أغسطس/آب، حذّرت منظمة العفو الدولية و13 جمعية ورابطة لعائلات الأشخاص المختفين والمفقودين، إلى جانب منظمات لحقوق الإنسان من مختلف أنحاء الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا، من أن السلطات تواصل استخدام الاختفاء القسري كأداة للقمع بينما تكثّف حملات القمع ضد العائلات التي تسعى إلى معرفة الحقيقة وتحقيق العدالة وتلقي التعويضات.

فمن الجزائر إلى اليمن والعراق وغزة وسوريا ولبنان وغيرها، لا تزال عائلات المختفين تواجه الإفلات من العقاب وتطالب بمعرفة الحقيقة وتحقيق العدالة وتلقي التعويضات. وفي الجزائر، كان ثمن القيام بذلك هو التعرّض للمضايقة والاحتجاز.

في اليوم الدولي لضحايا الاختفاء القسري، نتضامن مع عائلات المفقودين والمختفين قسرًا في جميع أنحاء المنطقة ونطالب بوضع حد للاختفاء القسري والإفلات من العقاب والأعمال الانتقامية المرتكبة ضد أولئك الذين يبحثون عن الحقيقة.

#اليمن: مرّت سبعة أشهر منذ أن اعتقلت سلطات الأمر الواقع الحوثية المحامي الحقوقي عبد المجيد صبره بسبب ممارسته السلمية لحقه في حرية التعبير. وتجدد منظمة العفو دعوتها للحوثيين للإفراج الفوري وغير المشروط عنه.

يُحتجز عبد المجيد صبره تعسفيًا منذ يوم 25 سبتمبر/أيلول 2025 من مكتبه في صنعاء على يد مجموعة من القوات المسلحة التابعة للحوثيين ورجال مسلحين بملابس مدنية. وقد قدموا مذكرة اعتقال، وقالوا إن سبب اعتقاله هو منشوراته على وسائل التواصل التي أحيا فيها ذكرى ثورة 26 سبتمبر/أيلول.

في ديسمبر/كانون الأول 2025، وُضع صبره في الحبس الانفرادي لأكثر من أسبوعين. وقد بدأ إضرابًا متقطعًا عن الطعام احتجاجًا على معاملته. وبعد سبعة أشهر من اعتقاله، لا يزال محتجزًا تعسفيًا بدون توجيه تهم رسمية له.

يجب على الحوثيين إطلاق سراحه فورًا، هو وجميع أولئك الذين لا يزالون رهن الاحتجاز التعسفي، من بينهم العشرات من موظفي الأمم المتحدة والمجتمع المدني الذين تعرضوا للاعتقال والاحتجاز التعسفي والاختفاء القسري خلال حملات القمع الواسعة في عامي 2024 و2025.
