@drichardson347@Jes_Squirrell Dr Rickard is telling us what should happen, if empirical economics play through. In farming matters, logic and empirical economics do not happen. Something, always, turns up that throws normal life upside down. Question is, what will that be, and it better be pretty darn quick.
@AnnaLongthorp That is why he find it incredulous that so many farmers appear to keep going, in the absence of significant off-farm income. He has learnt very quickly and thank goodness he publicises it so well.
@cvfarming I wouldn't have missed the experiences , for the world. Unless apocalypse, I don't see it coming back. Every year something new came, nitrogen, ACR's, silage additive, maize silage, treated straw, gave us hope...until it didn't. Last milking hurt.
@muddymuddymum Even more important to reduce background inflammation in these circumstances, if I might say.
Inflamed vascular system impairs circulation, impairs healing.
@harrym_vids As you know, the Gov't used to underwrite food production with the acreage payment. The arithmetic is gradually dawning and it is not pretty.
@EdwdPrice@FWAbiKay We are the rubber that hits the road, a way ahead which is festooned with cow pats from the devil's own satanic herd. (apol Blackadder)
@FWAbiKay In the grand scheme of things, I think I would allocate some strategic spending to keep people producing food in this country. Especially people willing to work for next to no wages and be happy doing it. A lot of expertise and experience is going to be lost now.

@duffy1972 All these imported raw materials make the case, then. When/if these imports are not available, and we have no indigenous production capacity bc it has all been outsourced?
