La Embajada de la India en Santo Domingo celebró el Día Internacional del Yoga el 21 de junio de 2026 en la emblemática e histórica Plaza España, en la Zona Colonial, centro cultural de la Ciudad Colonial de Santo Domingo. El evento incluyó sesiones de yoga durante todo el día y un mercado de yoga. El Embajador K. D. Dewal se dirigió a los asistentes durante la ceremonia de apertura, celebrada por la mañana. A la ceremonia asistieron la Directora de Diplomacia Especializada, la Sra. María Alejandra Castillo de Rault, del MIREX; el Embajador de Rusia, Alexey V. Seredin; una delegación de la Comisión Electoral de la India, encabezada por el Director de Asuntos Electorales, el Sr. L. Kumar; y el Presidente de la Cámara de Comercio India-República Dominicana, el Sr. David Marmol. Tras la ceremonia, el Embajador también recorrió los stands de los diferentes participantes.

Más de 500 entusiastas del yoga asistieron a las celebraciones del Día Internacional del Yoga en la República Dominicana.

Embassy of India in Santo Domingo celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June 2026 at the iconic and historical Plaza Espana in Zona Colonial, the cultural hub of the Colonial City in Santo Domingo, with day long Yoga Sessions and a Yoga Market. Ambassador K D Dewal addressed the gathering during the Opening Ceremony in the morning, attended by Director of Specialised Diplomacy Ms Maria Alejandra Castillo de Rault from MIREX, Ambassador of Russia Alexey V Seredin, Election Commission of India delegation led by Chief Electroal Officer Shri L. Kumar and President of India-DR chamber of Commerce Mr David Marmol. Ambassador also took a tour of all the stall exhibits after the opening ceremony.

More than 500 yoga enthusiasts attended day long IDY celebrations in Dominican Republic.

La Embajada de India dio la bienvenida a una delegación de la Comisión Electoral de India (ECI) encabezada por Shri Laksharaman Kumar, Jefe Electoral, Islas Andamán y Nicobar; y Shri Sushant Padha, Oficial Electoral del Distrito, Distrito Norte y Medio Andamán, Islas Andamán y Nicobar, quienes están en una visita bilateral a la República Dominicana.

La delegación se reunió con el Embajador K D Dewal y tuvo un encuentro interactivo con los miembros de la comunidad india para informarles sobre los últimos procesos democráticos en India.

Embassy of India welcomed an Election Commission of India (ECI) delegation led by Shri Laksharaman Kumar, Chief Electoral Officer, Andaman & Nicobar Islands; and Shri Sushant Padha, District Election Officer, North & Middle Andaman District, Andaman & Nicobar Islands who is on a bilateral visit to the Dominican Republic.

The delegation met Ambassador K D Dewal and had an Interactive meeting with the members of the Indian community to brief them on the latest democratic processes in India.

El Embajador de la India, Sr. K.D. Dewal, participó en la reunión de la delegación de la Comisión Electoral de la India, encabezada por el Sr. L. Kumar, Director Electoral de las Islas Andamán y Nicobar, y el Sr. Sushant Padha, Funcionario Electoral de Distrito, junto con el Sr. Felipe Carvajal, Rector del Instituto Especializado Superior en Formación Política Electoral y del Estado Civil (IESPEC), y otras altas autoridades de la institución. Ambas partes dialogaron sobre el proceso electoral de los dos países y posibles colaboraciones académicas.

The Ambassador of India Mr. K.D. Dewal joined the meeting of the Indian Election Commission delegation led by Mr. L. Kumar, Chief Electoral Officer, Andaman & Nicobar and Mr. Sushant Padha, District Election Officer, with Mr. Felipe Carvajal, Rector of Instituto Especializado Superior en Formación Política Electoral y del Estado Civil (IESPEC) and other senior authorities of the institution. The two sides held discussions on electoral process of the two countries and possible academic collaborations.

La #JCE, a través del Instituto Especializado Superior en Formación Política Electoral y del Estado Civil (@iespec), realizó la conferencia “El Sistema Electoral de la India”, un encuentro académico orientado al intercambio de experiencias y buenas prácticas sobre uno de los procesos democráticos más grandes del mundo.

La conferencia estuvo a cargo de los funcionarios electorales Shri L. Kumar, de las Islas Andamán y Nicobar, y Shri Sushant Padha, del distrito North & Middle Andaman, quienes compartieron con autoridades y colaboradores de la #JCE las características, desafíos y buenas prácticas del sistema electoral indio, reconocido por administrar uno de los padrones electorales más grandes del mundo y por incorporar herramientas tecnológicas que fortalecen la transparencia y la confianza ciudadana.
