Enjoyed speaking yesterday to the Southern Region of Mississippi Soil and Water Conservation Districts! Thanks to all our commissioners who serve across Mississippi. Conservation of our land, water and natural resources will be key to our future as a State.
Good afternoon everyone, I have this report and update on Deputy Yates Rodney, who is able to communicate today. And I am sharing this specific prayer request he asked me to share with you. Please pray that Deputy Rodney will be able to walk again. We know and I believe that God is able to do this, and God has already answered so many prayers for this young hero. Thank you all, and God bless all you prayer warriors!
Senseless. Tragic. Evil. Preventable. Too much to say in a single post. I will have much more to share later. For now we can be grateful that these two suspects were captured by law enforcement early this morning.
These two are the suspects and those responsible in the awful shooting of Deputy Yates Rodney yesterday afternoon. Thank God and our law enforcement that they are in custody this morning. These are the 18 and 19 year old brothers of the 17 year old who killed Billy and Carol Blair in their home last Wednesday. Absolutely unthinkable their evil was allowed to fester among the general public this long.
Fellow Mississippians, this is the moment we must join together as law abiding citizens of this State and demand better. We must support our law enforcement and completely rebuild our broken criminal justice system, especially the juvenile justice system.
I am asking you to keep praying for Deputy Rodney and family as well as the Blair family. Pray for Mississippi.
Dear Friends and Prayer Warriors, my heart is so very heavy again tonight.

The Covington County deputy who was senselessly shot today is the grandson of one of our church members. This afternoon I was able to visit this young hero and his family at the hospital where he is being treated for very serious injuries. Thankfully and miraculously he is still with us. I am asking all who believe in the power of prayer to join Leslie and me in praying for this young man and his wife, their family, for God to do a miracle of healing for him. Without getting into details, the injuries are very serious and he needs a special touch from God so please pray for him earnestly
And when you pray, thank God for all our law enforcement heroes like this young man who put their lives on the line every day so that you and I can live in safety. Pray for Covington County. Pray for Mississippi. Thank you all.
Andy Gipson
This afternoon a Covington County deputy was shot in the line of duty by some of the exact same criminal element who killed the Blairs last Wednesday. I will have more to share later. For now join me in praying urgently for this deputy. And pray for all our law enforcement as they work to bring these outlaws to justice. Pray!
This past Friday I was honored to attend the Mississippi Highway Patrol’s graduation ceremonies for Cadet Class #70. Congratulations to all the graduates and may God bless and keep you safe. We thank God for you and your daily sacrifices for the People of Mississippi. Thank you!!
I’ve been sharing Seven Bedrock Principles that I will always stand for as your next Governor.
Number 1) Freedom.
Number 2) Family.
Number 3) The People Are in Charge.
Number 4) Protecting the Public’s Safety.
Supporting our law enforcement and the public’s safety is the basic role of a Governor and it’s something I am very focused on with proven experience. Especially in the coming days we need a Governor with a backbone willing to fight for the People and for the public safety. I am that candidate. Thank you so much for your prayers and support. We have to win this for the sake of our children and grandchildren!
Good Sunday morning my friends. Not knowing what this week would hold, last Sunday as we mourned with the Taylor McGuire family, I brought a message on Going Through Grief with God. I am sharing it here because now our entire community and state is going through grief at the senseless tragedies of this past Wednesday. I feel led to share this with you. You can first hear the testimonies of the McGuires. And the message begins around the 34 minute mark. https://t.co/dFzZV8DA7l
Please pray for the Billy and Carol Blair family today - and for me - as I will be bringing another message and pray the Lord will guide us through this pain. God bless you today. Love your families. Take your children to church. Pray for one another and God alone will get us through this.
In the cold, hard world in which we live - these Mississippi Pinkeye Purplehull peas remind me of an unchanging truth: Keep on planting good seeds today, for a blessed and good harvest tomorrow. God bless you and Mississippi! Andy Gipson
It’s taken me two full days to share what’s in this 5 minute video. But it needs to be said, and we as a State must act. The tragic killings of the Blairs, two wonderful people I knew, and the underlying root cause will not be ignored, especially when I hear reports of this type of incident occurring all over our State. Here is my call to action and a call to prayer. Pray for Simpson County and Mississippi, but especially the families who are hurting so terribly. Accountability must be brought to our Juvenile Justice system at a statewide level and I am ready to lead that charge.
Mrs. Leslie and I were very glad to sponsor the @MSGOP America250 🇺🇸 Lincoln-Reagan-Trump celebration last evening. We love supporting America and Mississippi, and we love to stand boldly on our conservative principles and the Republican Party platform. With a focus on faith, family and freedom, working together we Republicans will lead Mississippi toward even brighter horizons as we celebrate 250 years, and embark on the next 250 years! God bless America and God bless Mississippi!
Principle #3 - The PEOPLE are in charge! Other politicians intentionally took your vote and your voice, and as your next Governor I am 100% committed to restoring the voice of you, the People, right here in Mississippi. I am asking for your vote in the Republican Primary - mark it on your calendar to vote Gipson for Governor on August 3, 2027. Thank you!!
Appreciate the rapid response and attention of @USDA and @SecRollins to this detection of NWS in Texas, the first confirmed case in the U.S. Thank you for your diligence and proactive response. For the public there is no need to panic because there is no risk to food supply, and USDA and partners have developed a solid response plan. We states are here to help monitor and respond as needed.
We are treating the confirmed case of New World Screwworm in a Texas cattle ranch with the utmost seriousness and are responding aggressively alongside our state partners @TAHC.
USDA's proactive actions bought us nearly a year to prepare, as models had projected New World Screwworm would reach the United States by the summer of 2025. That preparation allowed us to move immediately when this case was detected.
After years of unchecked spread through Central and South America, this devastating pest has now reached the United States. The Trump Administration and USDA acted swiftly, activating our New World Screwworm Response Playbook, establishing quarantines and movement controls, accelerating sterile fly releases, expanding border trapping, and intensifying livestock and wildlife surveillance.
We are using every tool available, in partnership with states, ranchers, and wildlife officials, to eradicate this pest before it can spread and threaten American cattle producers.
AI Can Never Truly Replace You! In a rapidly increasingly “artificial” world, I believe the defining ethical issue of our time will be standing up for the rights, freedoms and human dignity of Real People. Thank you @MSFFA for inviting me to speak to your nearly 700 statewide FFA members at your annual convention in Starkville yesterday. I shared with these future leaders some truths that will never change, no matter how “AI” may change our world: 1) Real People are always going to need real food, real healthcare and real education. 2) Real People are always going to need real leadership with people skills to recognize the value and dignity of the human soul and real human work. 3) Unlike artificial intelligence, Real People are created in the image of God with a God-given value and purpose. AI can and will never truly replace you and your purpose on this Earth. Keep these truths in mind. There will be no “AI agents” in Heaven, only Real People with everlasting souls. AI can never truly replace Real People, our real purpose and the value and dignity Real People bear. We had better embrace these truths as a society. When I am your Governor I will make sure these values are shared at the highest levels of government and in all our State policies, and this message will be reflected in all our schools and universities.
I am so brokenhearted by what happened yesterday in this little community near our church. I knew these dear folks and know their families. There are no words to describe this tragedy and the pain caused in our little community in Simpson County. I was in contact with law enforcement during the horrific ordeal, and the only proper description is this whole situation was the result of pure evil. But God is still good, and we must turn to Him in times like these. Thank you to the officers who responded, thank you for the prayers for them and the injured officer, continue to pray for the families who lost their loved ones yesterday. We thank God that they did know the Lord and are safe with Him today. Pray for God’s comfort for the families and for justice to be rendered against those who committed this evil act. This will have long-lasting repercussions in our little community and we need the Lord to get through times like this. Thank you for praying for everyone affected.
Today has been a very difficult day for Simpson County. Unrelated to this afternoon’s tragic hostage situation in Simpson County, I was very sad to learn this afternoon of my friend Price Wallace’s passing. Price was a farmer, businessman and legislator. He was elected to serve House District 77, Simpson and Rankin Counties, the same seat I formerly held in the Mississippi House of Representatives. Price was a good man and he will be missed. Please join Leslie and me as we lift his wife Cindy and their family in our prayers.
