I’m all for moving to a greener mode of transport and the incentives on electric cars make them cheaper to run overall, but surely this pricing anomaly is counterproductive to a longer term policy of removing polluting cars from the roads?!

Based on 52p kWh electricity, and £1.80 per litre diesel, it’s now almost the same cost per mile to drive an equivalent diesel car versus an electric car. If fuel prices continue to fall, and electricity prices continue to spiral, it will soon be cheaper per mile to drive diesel

@Will_Robins The ‘don’t increase pay’ take was a mad suggestion. As lowest paid are most impacted by inflation, it suggested its fine to sacrifice the poorest to ensure the wealthiest’s savings aren’t eroded. Best to fix the supply issues first, as demand for some essentials wont fall anyway

@dontdelay Suspect it’s a function of larger firms not being able to access smaller funds that offer founder share classes. If you’re happy to look at funds < £50m you can negotiate some good terms. If you’re running +£500m, it makes it difficult to take a £25m position in a £25m fund…

@TheStalwart Not sure on the MPs point. It’s not Govts decision to do more QE. The BoE are encouraging Govt to spend by doing more QE. This is good. Perhaps then, the Govt should make the most of being paid to borrow and, you know, provide funding for hungry kids?

Am running 100 miles in 5 days with zero calories. Objective not to tell others to Do this. Nobody 'needs to'. It's to prove beyond doubt carbs are non essential, a keto adapted person can fuel on fat stores, and important for me low/zero carb is safe and good for T1DM. Please RT
