Posting my video of “Lucid” from the MPLS show. I resonate with this song so much and really need it today. Thank you @Louis_Tomlinson for your brilliant songwriting and singing. Your music saves me often 💛🧡❤️
#BREAKING: Legendary #Maddow: “You know, you live long enough, you realize that there are some days, there are some times, when the bill comes due. You know, you’ve done things in the past, perhaps ill advised, things you kinda knew at the time weren’t a good idea, and sometimes you are able to skate by for a little while, you get away with that stuff for a little while, but eventually you learn in this life, that the bill comes due. We’re having one of those times in the news right now. So for example, when we as a country elected this president, he decided in his infinite wisdom, that he would immediately allow his top campaign donor @elonmusk, to cut whole swaths of US government capacity based on nothing but Elon Musk’s own say so, and his gut feelings. So things that took decades if not generations to build up, some of these things the gold standard government capacity for the whole world, President Donald Trump just said hey, you’re my top campaign donor, as far as I’m concerned, that gives you the right to sledgehammer the US government to your heart’s content. I don’t care, you enjoy yourself. And that is how thousands of subject matter experts, and forest rangers and specialist lawyers, and prosecutors, and scientists, and and and, it’s how all these people lost their jobs and their careers in the US government. But it’s also how we as a country lost things like say a project that had been funded, that was shovel ready, expertly planned, much needed, ready to go, a project to build FIRE BREAKS in the Superior National Forest in Minnesota. Elon Musk and Donald Trump did not care enough or were not bright enough to understand what a project like that might conceivably be for, and so they [killed] it…Trump in his wisdom literally stopped funding last year for the shovel ready project to build fire breaks in the Superior National Forest in Minnesota, so there would be less to burn, so it would be EASIER to fight any fire that did break out…He and Elon Musk stopped the funding of that project and so now, the bill has come due. The Superior National Forest in Minnesota, as we speak, is on fire. Thank you DOGE. Thank you Donald Trump…”🙄🤦♀️
Thank you @elonmusk for calling Chef Jose Andres an asshole.

Looking for a fic you might have missed on the timeline?
I’ll try to share some I’ve read over the next few weeks that are unique.

what are we gonna do about it?
repost fic post, like, kudos, comment, post about it, recommend it to friends, share it in rec lists. make it known to the author that you’re OBSESSED
I would also love to share the Spotify playlist that's already to 240 songs and we are in week 33. I think @28rainbows1 began documenting the songs recommended by Lucky Again record store.

I’m going to put some fics in the comments that I’ve read this year that I’ve enjoyed. By authors who I didn’t know before I read one of theirs; they might be well known authors to others but they’re ‘new’ to me.
❤️A thread of Larry fics that deserve more love ❤️
I could honestly go on forever with these, but for now I'll be concentrating on fics with less than 30k hits (and maybe some just over). I'll keep adding to this as I find them.
Hope you all enjoy these gems
Yesterday started a movement about the "lack of fics" in our fandom. A mention of feeling invisible brought support and agreements from other writers.
So, despite how uncomfortable it makes me, I'm going to try not to be invisible and share a fic once in a while. +
I'm seeing some posts about fic length and I wanted to add my thoughts. Before I start: yes, my longest fic is 80K so I am a bit biased here, and no, I am not in any way criticising long fics! But...
Did you know War and Peace (a book literally used in a colloquial saying to mean something is too long) is 567K? That's shorter than some of the fandom classics.
Did you know The DaVinci Code, A Tale of Two Cites, and The Odyssey are all under 150K?
Did you know Wuthering Heights, Sherlock Holmes and Gullivers Travels are all under 120K?
At the other end of the scale: did you know Frankenstein, The Catcher in the Rye, War of the Worlds and most Agatha Christie novels are under 80K?
Beowulf: 43K
The Wizard of Oz: 42K
The Alchemist: 39K
Jekyll & Hyde: 29K
Of course I could go on, but I won't... All I'm saying is some of the best books ever written have fewer words than you might think. So give us less wordy writers a chance, maybe? 🥹

I don't say this only because all of the fics I've written are under 100,000 words, I say this because I've read a lot of great works by some really talented writers who go practically unnoticed because of their "short " length. Give us a chance...
I’m going to try to say this as kindly as I can…if you want Larry fic writers to write more fics bc of some silly rankings list, consider reading and engaging more with the fics we’ve already written.
Read fics with less than 100 kudos and less than 500 hits. Recommend fics that aren’t the same 50 already popular fics by authors that don’t even write in this fandom anymore, but always show up on every rec list. Try reading an author you’ve never read before! Read WIPs. Share what you’re reading and COMMENT IF YOU LIKE IT!
Encourage the authors who are actively writing NOW, and they will be inspired, energized, charged, and excited to keep going. Make them feel seen and appreciated, and I promise you, they will be twice as likely to write more fics, not for some arbitrary ship list, but for YOU.
MSP recorded a dew point temperature of 81F early this morning. The all-time record is 82F and we had only spent 28 hours above 80F before today.... ever #mnwx
Ben Affleck's mother Chris Affleck passed today. I was unaware of her longstanding activism for Palestine. Now his disgust and revulsion at genocidal Zionist Bill Maher and Sam Harris's deranged racist Islamophobic rants makes perfect sense. RIP, you raised a good son.
Three years ago we lost a fearless icon. May we have an ounce of her bravery in holding predators and their network of protectors accountable. RIP Sinéad O’Connor, Shuhada’ Sadaqat
