Historic Night, Historic Audience! 🇺🇸⚽️📺
The Stars and Stripes soared into the records books last night posting the most-watched @USMNT telecast ever and most-watched FIFA Men’s World Cup Group Stage telecast in English-language US history.
The FIFA World Cup kicks off today, and while ticket prices are insane, @Tubi is streaming opening matches for free!
We’re bringing access and ease to the tournament with simulcasts of Mexico vs South Africa and USA vs Paraguay, free in 4K. We’re also streaming the Mexico City and Los Angeles opening ceremonies featuring performances by Shakira, J Balvin, Katy Perry, Future and more.
Cheers to the teams competing, and above all, cheers to the fans ⚽️💜
Tubi signs comedian KevOnStage to most expansive creator partnership to date. 6 projects total. Two new seasons of Safe Space, Grief Sucks comedy special, The Airport, and two feature films.
GOD IS GOOD!!
Conan, Trevor Noah, Rotten Mango and more of your favorite video pods are coming to @Tubi, courtesy of our partners at @SIRIUSXM 🙌🏽

The @Tubi free streaming train keeps chugging. Just announced:
- Most streamed quarter with over 3 billion hours watched
- Accelerating 23% YoY revenue growth
- 3rd profitable quarter
We may not have had the Super Bowl or Olympics this year, but we brought it with the largest universe of movies & tv series, all free, for consumers. We’ve added video pods, Original movies, cartoon classics, creator content and sports culture to our platform, including our first F1 altcast with @MichelleKhare 🏎️ covering the Miami Grand Prix. Next up: kicking off the FIFA World Cup with the opening matches streaming free on June 11 and 12 ⚽️!

Excited to see @Tubi featured in @WSJ following great conversations with @bellelin_, with perspectives from both me and @anjsud, on how we’re using AI to win over Gen Z audiences by improving all three sides of our marketplace (Viewers, Content Creators, Advertisers).
A few key ideas behind our approach:
1. Hyper-personalization at scale: combining deep learning + LLMs, including Tubi Foundation Model (built on open source pretrained model and fine tuned on our proprietary data) to understand not just what you watch, but why
2. AI is expanding discovery: as people turn to conversational interfaces and AI agents, we’re meeting viewers at the moment of intent (including with our recent native ChatGPT app launch)
3. One AI foundation, multiple unlocks: the same content understanding that powers discovery also drives more relevant, scene-aware advertising such as our our Tubi Moments ads product
4. Creator economics are changing: AI is a tool for creators, lowering the barrier to storytelling and expanding who gets to create
5. Built for experimentation and velocity: Tubi is fueled by experimentation (almost 2000 per year), and AI is rapidly accelerating that pace across the entire company
In this era, the most important attribute is learning fast, constantly reimagining how things can be built using the new tools, and staying scrappy (we’re even willing to rack NVIDIA GPUs in the office if it can help unlock more experiments for our eng team!).
Big shoutout to @santacruzseana for helping bring this story to life.

Prompt ➡️ Play
This week @Tubi became the first streamer to natively integrate with ChatGPT for content recommendations.
Just add Tubi from ChatGPT’s app store and tag us in any prompt about what you’re in the mood for. We suggest titles from the world’s largest library of movies and TV episodes, with a direct link to play.
Here are my reccos from last night…I went with Watching the Detectives, had no idea Lucy Liu and Cillian Murphy did a movie together!
We’re excited to experiment with new ways to meet our fans where they are. AI app stores and recommendations are quite new, and there’s a lot to learn. But it’s a good bet that most of us will use AI agents to navigate the internet in the future.
Tubi has always invested ahead of the curve when it comes to content discovery and personalization, and we’re leaning in to help shape this emerging interface in service of viewers 🚀
Tubi has announced a partnership with TikTok to help short-form creators.
"Entertainment, we no longer define that as just Hollywood, or television, or movies," Tubi CEO @anjsud told Yahoo Finance. "It's anything we choose to spend our time on."
Today @Tubi was named the #15 most innovative company in the world, and the #1 most innovative in video.
We have long operated as the underdog in streaming, and it feels like we are now entering disruptor territory.
My pov on how:
1. Business Model Differentiation.
Our bet is that the future of entertainment is free and on-demand. This flies in the face of conventional monetization mechanisms today: rising subscription prices for consumers, paid tiers with ads, monoculture programming. Tubi remains 100% free for consumers and relies solely on ads to fund our investments. We are less diversified, but we benefit from the power of focus and clarity.
2. Fan First.
Our bets are rooted in what we see and hear from fans, including Gen Z and Alpha. We let our audience guide which stories we greenlight and platform. And increasingly, we hire builders and makers out of college who are digitally, socially and AI native, who represent the next generation we seek to serve.
3. Courageous Experimentation.
We believe a culture of fearless execution enables outsized outcomes. We are a smaller team, which we use to our advantage by moving fast and staying nimble. From streaming the Super Bowl to bringing creators to Hollywood to introducing new discovery experiences, we run thousands of experiments a year.
Congrats to our team for their continued work on behalf of audiences and storytellers!
