@girldrawsghosts I know from interviews with Taylor Dearden that the actors were given the time/space/encouragement to integrate parts of their own personalities and pitch character ideas. A lot of Mel’s neurodivergent traits are informed by Dearden’s own knowledge & experience.

movies have come such a long way since back then.

it's probably because cameras didn't have built-in screens, but so many old movies have these weird glares, reflection, and other artefacts obstructing the actor.

just another reminder that some things *are* getting better.
