The Part of Leadership No One Sees
Most people think leadership is about presence, speaking first, giving orders, inspiring the room.
But real leadership lives below the surface.
It is in the moments no one claps for:
• Listening before reacting
• Coaching instead of commanding
• Being available for others when it is inconvenient
• Choosing humility over ego
The loudest leaders are not always the most effective.
The ones who build trust quietly, through empathy, inclusion, and consistency, are the ones who leave a lasting impact.
The surface might get attention.
But the depth builds legacy.
Are you leading from visibility or from depth?
As we approach Thanksgiving, I have been reflecting on the people who continue to walk with me on this journey. My friends. My colleagues. My mentors. My mentees. My support group. Our Tuggle Nation community. Each of you has played a meaningful part in my life this year, and I want to take a moment to say thank you.
I am grateful for the strength, patience, and understanding so many of you have shown as I continue to navigate my search for a kidney transplant. I am grateful to still wake up each day with energy, optimism, and purpose. And I am deeply thankful for those who continue to advocate on my behalf. Your kindness has carried me in ways that words often cannot describe.
This season reminds me that gratitude is not only a feeling. It is a reminder of who stands with you, who believes in you, and who chooses to support you through every chapter. I am surrounded by people who care, people who push me forward, and people who remind me that this journey is shared, not walked alone.
As you gather with loved ones this week, I hope you find a moment to reflect on the people who bring meaning to your life. The ones who offer encouragement. The ones who show up with consistency. The ones who help you stay grounded and hopeful.
Thank you for being part of my story. Thank you for the prayers, the support, the messages, and the belief. I carry all of it with me.
Wishing you and your families a warm, peaceful, and joyful Thanksgiving.
The Power of a Quiet Reset
By Friday, the noise of the week catches up to all of us.
The meetings, the deadlines, the expectations. It is easy to stay in motion and call it progress.
But real growth happens in the pause.
In the moments where you let your mind breathe, replay what worked, and release what did not.
Stillness is where clarity lives.
It is where leaders reset their perspective before they reset their plans.
I have learned that success is not about how much you do, but how intentional you are about what deserves your energy. Some weeks that means pushing. Other weeks it means stepping back to listen, to your team, to your purpose, and to yourself.
As you close out the week, give yourself permission to pause. Not to stop, but to start again with more focus and more peace.
What part of your week needs reflection before you move forward?
Your Real Superpower as a Leader
Every leader wants to talk about strengths.
Very few want to talk about the one superpower that moves organizations forward
Self awareness.
In 25 years of leading global teams, I have learned a simple truth
Your real advantage is not talent
Not experience
Not even intelligence
It is the ability to understand your impact and adjust in real time
Your superpower is not what you do well
It is your discipline to notice when you are the problem
And the courage to fix it before your team pays the price
Clarity
Presence
Emotional intelligence
These are the real force multipliers
#TuggleNation
Today we honor the men and women who have served our nation with courage, discipline, and selflessness.
Veterans remind us that leadership is not defined by position, but by purpose.
Service requires commitment when it is not convenient.
It means showing up for others, not just when it is easy, but when it matters most.
In every organization I have led, I have seen how those same values make the difference between good teams and great ones.
Integrity. Accountability. Team before self.
To every veteran, thank you for leading by example. Your sacrifice sets the standard for what service truly means.
Harsh Leadership Reality
Leadership is not kind. If you believe it is, you’re already behind.
When results matter, you will feel the pressure. You will make decisions nobody saw coming. You will set standards other people will question. And you will carry the burden of risk others avoid.
Some leaders promise comfort. Growth doesn’t come from comfort. Growth comes from clarity, cold truth, and relentless purpose.
If you say you want to lead, ask yourself: are you ready to do what most won’t do? To hold yourself accountable when others won’t? To be the example when no-one is watching?
What truth are you avoiding in your leadership role right now?
