I am utterly floored to read Ethan Hawke, writer & director of the new film about Flannery O'Connor, quoting from RADICAL AMBIVALENCE, my book about O’Connor and race

@amjuster Oh, my! So glad you are okay! I was in a Florida ER on the Ides of March after my Uber driver was T-boned in an intersection. 2 days later we were back as my 8 year old granddaughter needed an emergency appendectomy. Spent our vacation in the ER. Can't recommend it Be well!
Delighted that my new book THE VIEW FROM CHILDHOOD: NEW & SELECTED POEMS is included in this round of reviews of recent poetry collections in @americamag.

What a joy to read for the @PowowRiverPoets in Newburyport, MA this weekend along with @amjuster and many friends who read at the open mic. Thanks to Rhina Espaillat, Paulette Turco, @alfred_nicol, @MidgeGoldberg, & all of the other Powows who extended such warm hospitality!
I'm happy to be reading from my recent poetry collections THE VIEW FROM CHILDHOOD and DEAR DANTE with the Powow River Poets this Saturday, 10/2, along with marvelous poet & translator @amjuster Join us live or online for an afternoon of poetry by Petrarch, Dante, Mike, and me.
I'm happy to share this poem in the new issue of @ChristianCent, a meditation & a recognition that the condition of being an immigrant is common to us all. Thanks to poetry editor @jbaumgae for choosing the poem.

@Md1819@americamag@FordhamNYC@curran_center Thank you, Scott. Yes, Heaney learned a lot from Frost. His poetry gave Heaney permission to write about rural life in Derry, where he grew up. Two great poets.
Today marks the 13th anniversary of Seamus Heaney's passing. I am sharing this In Memoriam piece I wrote for @americamag after his death. We miss you, Seamus--the poetry world is poorer without you in it.

@poorerthandead@CityLightsBooks One of the great honors of my life was meeting Marie (twice!) and giving her a lifetime achievement award in the Catholic Imagination at @FordhamNYC. She was, like Flannery, a big fan (& dear friend) of William Lynch SJ, who was a Fordham professor, as well as editor of THOUGHT
@poorerthandead@CityLightsBooks Thank you for this post, Dave! How wonderful that Flannery read the poetry of her fellow American Catholic writer, Marie Ponsot. She surely would have recognized Marie's brilliance. https://t.co/h5FyvJGoTt
