Empathy is a dogma killer. That's why MAGA Christians are going so hard against it. The moment you get close enough to someone to see their humanity, it's much harder to hate them. And MAGA needs their followers to hate the "other." So they demonize empathy, convince their base to ignore empathetic instincts in the face of inhumane policy and BOOM- their dogmatic ideology is protected.

Not all churches, I know, but far too many. Not to mention a child is far more likely to be abused at church than at any drag show. And yet Christians scream about the dangers of queer people w/ no proof, but ignore the ample predators in the Pews.

And I'm saying this as someone who grew up in church and was regularly told by church leaders to cover my shoulders or wear shorts below my knee as a CHILD to protect men from stumbling.

This grooms children to think they're at fault when men misbehave & gives cover for abuse.

Telling 8 year old girls to cover up their bodies because men might lust after them is what's actually sexualizing children.

Not queer people existing.
Not drag shows.
Not pride month.
