My take: Mamdani bears direct responsibility for the incitement that makes violence against Jews like the recent stabbing in NYC more likely. Political leaders must be held accountable when their words fuel hatred and create the conditions for violent attacks.

Ce vendredi 24 juillet, plusieurs individus sont entrés en plein jour au musée du Pays Châtillonnais, à Châtillon-sur-Seine, comme de simples visiteurs. Quelques instants plus tard, ils en sont ressortis avec l’un des plus précieux objets de l’archéologie celtique.

Découvert en 1953 dans une tombe princière du VIe siècle av. J.-C., ce torque exceptionnel pèse près de 480 grammes d’or. Il accompagnait la célèbre « princesse de Vix », inhumée avec un mobilier funéraire extraordinaire, dont l’immense cratère de Vix, haut de 1,64 mètre.

Le musée avait déjà été visé par deux tentatives de cambriolage, dont une la semaine dernière.

Au-delà de sa valeur matérielle, le torque est une pièce archéologique unique, témoin des échanges entre les élites celtiques d’Europe occidentale et le monde méditerranéen il y a 2 500 ans.
