We have seen the OHCHR’s remarks about today’s events in New Delhi.

India is the world’s largest democracy, where the right to peaceful assembly is guaranteed by our Constitution and safeguarded by robust institutions, an independent judiciary and a free media. As in every democracy, Indian citizens exercise this right subject to reasonable restrictions in the interest of public order. The authorities, for their part, act in accordance with the law, and our courts remain available to all for redressal of any grievances.

The OHCHR’s concerns are therefore misplaced and constitute an unwarranted interference in the internal affairs of India.

In this context, OHCHR would also do well to devote comparable attention to large-scale protests elsewhere, consistent with its mandate of impartiality and non-selectivity.

Some extremists hiding behind Sikh identity sheltering anarchists inside Gurdwaras in Delhi while opposing police action? Since when did a place of worship become a safe haven for criminals?

We’ve seen how dangerous this kind of situation can get, including during 1984.

Let me be unapologetic.. if criminals are being sheltered inside any religious place and authorities are being denied entry, then it should be bulldozed. Even if criminals were hiding inside my own Hindu temple, I’d support bulldozer action.

No place of worship should be used to shield criminals. Enough!

If protesters are being allowed inside a Gurudwara while the police are being denied entry, serious questions need to be asked.

Our Sikh brothers must understand that a place of worship should never become a shield against law enforcement. No one should be above the law, and criminal elements must not be protected.

Hours later, ABP Ananda corrected itself and apologised, admitting it had mistakenly said 772 instead of 972.

But we all know how this game works. Fake news gets amplified at lightning speed, the narrative goes viral and corrections arrive when the damage is already done. So who’s going to fix the damage? Will everyone who pushed this propaganda now come forward, apologise and admit they were either dumb or deliberately misleading people?

And this isn’t just about one incident. It keeps happening across issues.

Honestly, @BJP4India’s excessive tolerance in the name of democracy is becoming a liability. When misinformation is weaponised against the party and its mandate, staying silent and taking no action only allows the ecosystem to grow stronger.

If BJP doesn’t start tackling organised misinformation seriously, it won’t just lose the narrative. It could cost the party politically.

Told y’all already.. this entire social media “Vote Chori” campaign + constant vilification of CEC Gyanesh Kumar > a calculated drama to manufacture chaos and push the country towards the kind of anarchy we’ve seen in Bangladesh and elsewhere during regime-change movements.

But here’s the real WTF moment.. a petitioner before the SC reportedly said the “country will burn” if interim orders aren’t passed against the CEC. Is that an admission, a threat, or both?

And yeah, we’ve heard similar “country will burn” rhetoric from Pappu before, so the source of the playbook isn’t exactly a mystery.

If the statement was actually made, there should be accountability for it. Enough of intimidation, pressure politics and mobocracy.. especially when the Constitution is being waved around as a shield. Ugh.
