Seen a lot mixed feelings about @MagicEden stopping support for Ordinals. (dw this isn´t a passive shill about another marketplace launching soon)

Magic Eden onboarded countless collectors/users to Ordinals and if it wasn't for them, loads of projects would´t be as big as they are today - I personally think we defenatley owe a lot to them.

ME being an early mover thanks to ChartFu & others also came with downsides. They built architecture on a foundation that is largely viewed as "flawed" now, with numerous indexing issues as well.

Still, ME was by far the most "battle-tested" infra for Ordinals.

ME has to ensure they are a profitable business and considering where we are today, it is obvious why gambling is the direction so many companies are finding themselves pivoting toward.

People want to gamble and we’re in an age where companies are making people gamble without them realizing that they are.

I’ve participated in the Ordinals Ecosystem from the start and have worked with some of the bright minds in the space like @harto_fr @__proper @veryordinally @stenreiss ,.... and launching/supporting several collections including @floraforms

I can say that I think this is one of the most interesting shifts that the space has experienced to-date.

ME ending support will be tough in the short term for Ordinals, however, it creates new incentives for others to build new stuff in a way that is sustainable.

Hopefully that entails being more creator/artist focused!
