As we were about to dock into the ISS, I saw this amazing view from the window of the Soyuz, right next to my seat. I couldn't help but say 'Wow!' and I straight away took out my iPhone to take this photo.

Today in 1961, the Mercury "Freedom 7" capsule flown by Alan Shepard on May 5, 1961 was donated to the @Smithsonian.

October 23, 1968: As the Apollo 7 crew arrives home, the UPI reports that NASA has asked McDonnell Douglas to design a "Super Gemini" spacecraft to follow Apollo as an American space bus of the future. The initial proposal will seat nine astronauts.
